I don' wanna be a goat
A bunch of my friends and I went camping and rafting in the Lost Valley of the Ozark Mountains. We sung this VBS (vacation Bible school) song at night while we were hiking up to cliffs and caves, one of them with an awesome underground waterfall.
I don' wanna be a goat, NOPE.
I don' wanna be a goat, NOPE.
'Cause I wanna be a sheep, BAAA!;
I don' wanna be a goat, NOPE.
I don' wanna be a Pha-ri-see.
I don' wanna be a Pha-ri-see.
'Cause they're just not "fair, y'see";
I don' wanna be a Pha-ri-see.
I don' wanna be a Sa-du-cee.
I don' wanna be a Sa-du-cee.
'Cause they're all so "sad, 'u see";
I don' wanna be a Pha-ri-see.
I don' wanna be a goat . . .
The Pharisees and Saducees were powerful Jewish sects around the time of Jesus's ministry in Palestine. The Pharisees had similar beliefs to what would later become the Christian movement, but a vastly different attitude toward faith. The Saducees did not believe in miracles, the afterlife, resurrection, and anything that was not recorded in the Pentateuch, the first five books of the Torah (the Old Testament).
Based on Matthew 25:31-46.
