		"by my side"

no matter what you may think...
i am not cold, cruel
just lonely
and though i may say things
and act as though i do not care
it is all a play
for my heart is frightened of being known
for what it truly is
merely a child
lost inside myself, i wander alone
pushing away
and retreating inside
it is far easier to be ignored
than to feel real pain
and denial
so i will try to keep to myself
far longer than i will ever
try to keep you
by my side
