1998 ProgramStudents Choose 2 activities from each module Module 1 Classes include: Horseback Riding Cooking Nature Science Arts and Crafts Module 2 Classes include: Canoeing Fishing Sports Class Archery Module 3 Classes include: Water Sports Golf Swimming Trekking and Classification Horseback Riding: (3 hours a day) Subjects covered are: The Nature of the Horse, Horse Safety, Leading a Horse and Proper Posture (a bareback exercise) Grooming and Saddling, Bridling, Basic Riding Lessons, Trail rides Cooking: Students will be taught to cook western style and be given the Recipes so they can do it back in Their own country. The Students will be able to make some of the following: Pizza, Cookies, Cake and many others! Nature Science: This class will focus on the Animals that are indigenous to Riding Mountain National Park. The students will learn about bears and how they can survive without eating for 6 months. Wild Life viewing from the safety of the Bear Ranch blind. Fun Photography Explore a Beaver Pond Early morning Wild life Safari Arts and Craft: This class will focus on teaching the students basic skills and making certain articles with a definite Canadian Nature: Some of the activities: Moccasin Making, Willow weaving Elk Antler Necklace etc. Canoeing: This class the will teach the students basic skills needed to paddle and steer a canoe properly. Skills taught include: J stroke, Backstroke, Portaging, Ruddering, etc. The students will then put the Canoe through an obstacle course and it will be topped off with Canoe soccer and\or float trip. Fishing: This class will teach the students the three basic fishing techniques of Still Fishing, Casting and Trolling. Once the students have mastered these skills they will be able to test their luck and go after the infamous Northern Pike. Other fish to be sough will be Walleye and Perch. The students will then be shown how to properly clean and fillet the fish. Then it is time to eat them!! Sports Class: This class will focus on teaching the basic skills of soccer, baseball and basket ball. We will then play the above sports and it will be capped off with a Mini tournament. Archery: Water Sports: This class uses CICE’s Speed Boat. The class starts out by teaching Water safety. It then teaches various activities: Boating Tubing Knee boarding Skiing Slaloming Golf: Golf Class starts by teaching students the proper swing and evaluating the student’s form. They will then test their skills on a real course after developing some skills in the areas of: Driving Chipping, Irons putting Swimming: Instructor- Reagan The Students will first be evaluated as to their ability then put at the correct level..
