Who I Am, What I Do & Why I do it.

(5.26.2003 Anyone who knows me or has visited this site will soon realize that it evolves very slowly. As sad as it sounds, this page is over five years old and this is all I have for a personal history. I guess it's hard for me to write a history that I'm still creating. Maybe I'll finish it post mortem. Wouldn't that be interesting?!)

Boy, talk about an ambitious endeavor. Anyone who thinks he can sum up his life in the space of a few megabytes would have to be at least a little insane. Still, anyone afraid to attempt something challenging every once in a while may as well be dead. Since I've never been afraid to fall flat on my face while attempting the impossible, I'll give it a shot.

I was born in Washington, DC, and though I also spent a great deal of my early childhood in several parts of New York City, I'll always consider this to be my hometown. In my early 20's, I felt the unavoidable call of the "Wanderlust" come upon me and embarked upon a 4 month journey across the US. After returning home I realized that I'd never again be able to stay in any one place for very long. Within 6 months I had left my hometown & moved to scenic Woodstock, NY. (Yes, THE Woodstock!) For three years I had the pleasure of living in this wonderful l'il town and can honestly say it's one of the best places to live in the US, if not the world. Many people in the music industry (especially rock-n-roll) still visit often and some have homes or studios in the area. All-in-all some of the nicest people I've ever had the honor of meeting can be found here.

Before leaving Woodstock for good, I had the honor to attend several ceremonies with my extended family among the Lakota Sioux tribe in South Dakota. Here, my mind was opened to a whole new insight on spirituality. Each prayer is ended with the phrase "Mitakuye Oyasin" (All My Relations) which basically means that every living/"non-living" thing upon the earth is a relative and should be treated accordingly with the respect one would give a family member.
