Mission statement: To uplift the spirit and well-being of the poorest of the poor, the abused and the desolate through gift-giving, livelihood and educational programs.
Feed the Hungry, Inc. (FtH Inc.), a non-profit organization engaged in charity, was conceived by a couple whose burning desire was to share blessings with the less fortunate. During a visit to the Philippines, this couple witnessed first hand the devastating effects hunger can have especially on children.

At its inception in 1993, the initial purpose of FtH Inc. was to distribute food and small packages of "goodies" to orphans, the neglected or abandoned children and the elderly, during the months of December and January if only to bring Christmas cheer and share good fortune with targeted beneficiaries.

From its maiden year to the present, FtH Inc. has reached about 31,900 people, donated among other things, medical supplies to hospitals, books and school supplies to schools, artesian wells and roofing materials to disaster victims. It has embraced as its beneficiaries the elderly, the handicapped, the abused, and the terminally ill. It currently supports nine college scholars and two livelihood projects. In its seventh year, FtH Inc. evolved into asisting "whatsoever the need may be" and diversified in unflagging efforts in helping the needy by expanding the geographical coverage of tis targeted recipients to include more regions in the Philippines. See our list of FtH Inc. projects.

These were made possible through the World Bank Group & IMF Filipino Association, the Foundation for Aid to the Philippines (FAPI) and Metropolitan DC Fil-Am community organizations, and in partnership with the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) -- our strong supporter in the Philippines who assists in identifying qualified recipients, in transporting and distributing food and other items. Alongside FtH Inc. volunteers (majority of whom are staff members of the World Bank and IMF who devote a portion of their home leave/vacation for FtH Inc. project implementation), local volunteers have since then joined in this effort.

The circle of donors has expanded and is no longer limited to the Filipino community. FtH Inc. donors include all those who have recognized the worthiness of its endeavors and are concerned about the plight of the less privileged. We acknowledge and thank all our contributors without whom the success of FtH Inc. projects would not have been possible.
