Lillie and Erwin Beebe
Born, raised and died in the small town of Holly, Michigan, the Beebes
were my grandparents on my mother’s side.
Lillie Ptttenger Beebe was very much a lady of her time and a woman
of the future. As society’s lady she loved pretty clothes and
was very active in community affairs. As a progressive woman
she read Dickens and Shakespheare to her grandchildren and kept books for
the family business.
Erwin Earl Beebe was a man, who despite no education successfully ran
several businesses. His cement business poured blocks and city
sidewalks, his construction built spec homes, and from his ice house he
delivered refrigerator blocks to the summer tourists.
