Someone To Love Me
Written by: Jacki - 07/94
Someone to love me
That's all I ask
Is there no man
Equal to the task?
He needn't be a knight
On a charger snow white
Just a man who is gentle and kind
Could do much to soothe my aching
heart and ease my troubled mind
He needn't be rich nor particularly handsome
Just caring and considerate
I don't need gold enough to pay a king's ransom
For possessions I have but they don't fill that space
Deep in my heart where he'll find his place
I'm not hard to look at, I'm smart and I'm witty
So why am I alone, in the middle of the city?
My friends say "Don't worry - you'll meet him someday"
But "someday" just seems farther and farther away
To live life alone is a hard thing to do
There must be one who will love me true
It's hard to stay hopeful and hold bitterness at bay
When life is less worth living with each passing day
Someone to love me
That's all I ask
Is there no man
Equal to the task?
