| Population | The population' estimate from 1993 to 1994 was 9,898,900 to 10,264,628. Therefore, the estimate may have increased by a million to two million by now. | ||
| Culture and Religion | As of today, majority of the Cambodians follow the Theravada Buddhism religion. The culture is closely geared toward a nuclear family structured which also bonds closely to the rest of the community. | ||
| Languagues | Cambodian people speak Cambodian as the official language (Also known as Khmer). The written language is based on Sanskrit--an indian characteristic feature for writing. One unique feature is that a whole sentence or paragraph looks like its written as one. This is because there is no spaces between each words or sentences. I'll put in an example next time.
The secondary languauge is French. Many Chinese, Vietnamese and Cham, who also are among the ethnic groups in Cambodia, usually speak their own language as well as Cambodian and French. |
