Hell Hound Pit Fighting

This is something I didn't come up with but participated in until Admin on the mud changed the coding to make it impossible.

Aggressive monsters used to be able to attack one another if they were in the same room together. Now, an aggressive monster, for those of you not familiar with the term, is a monster that will attack you on sight without you typing "kill so-and-so"

It is possible for a Thief to force a monster to temporarily move locations from one room to another.

In the Tower of Alignment, third level down, to both the north and south of the hallway, there are monsters called Hell Hounds. Hounds are aggressive monsters. Utilizing the afore mentioned Thief skill, it is possible to move both of the Hounds into the ajoining hallway, result in a fight between the two hounds.

What fun!!!

We decided it would be fun to start betting on the fights. Problem was telling the Hounds apart from each other after they died.

The Thieves then got a bit creative. We would give select items to each Hound, that way when one Hound died, we would know which one it was. Placing our bets, we would then loose the Hounds for Mortal Combat.

As the old saying goes... It was all fun and games until someone got hurt.

During one of the dog fights, a mid-level Fighter runs thru the room, coming up from below. Low on hp from fighting one of the bigger monsters. On his way up to town to make a food run. He runs thru the room and gets attacked by both Hell Hounds and dies.

Oops...

The Thieves involved in this particular dog fight were not available for comment. Neither was the Fighter.

The situation was brought to the attention of Admin, and the coding on aggressive monsters has since been changed, so that they no longer will attack each other.
