Many knew of the beautiful Nyx and the masterful Seiya. Together they were a primal force to be rekoned with in Astaria. Nyx left Astaria to make the long journey to Seiya's homeland far to the east to prepare for the coming of their as-of-yet unborn son Shun-Wu. When she arrived, she was horrified to see the village a ruin, many of the people dead. The only survivors were a handful of villagers, among them Seiya's mother. Seiya's father had died valiently attempting to protect his home from the unknown invaders. Nyx called for her husband immediately. Seiya left all of his possessions with his lifelong companion Devin and made the long journey to his homeland to see what had happened and what could be done to rebuild the village of his youth.

When he joined Nyx, they were able to learn that the village was destroyed by a here-to-fore unknown race of demons that thrive on pain and agony. Nyx had found several artifacts in the wreckage of the village, and through her powerful magical abilities, was able to discern much about these demons, their actions and motives.

In addition to having great magical abilities at their command, these demons, called Tharkoldu, use a form of technology unknown in the realms called cybernetics. Using cyberware, these demons enhance their already impressive physical forms further, making them nigh-unstoppable in combat. Armed with nothing but this information and a determination befitting the mighty Seiya-Wu, he vowed that these Tharkoldu demons would pay dearly for their actions.

Nyx was able to discover that the demons do not come from the realm known as Astaria, but another realm altogether, with laws of reality very different from our own, allowing the demons to make very effective use of both high technology and powerful magics.

The beautiful Nyx had given birth to the boy Shun. He is the spitting image of the powerful and headstrong Seiya, while possessing the intelligence and wisdom of Nyx. Leaving him in the care of Seiya's mother, the pair set off to find the realm of the Tharkoldu Cyberdemons and bring them to their knees for what they had done to Seiya's homeland. They messengered all the information they had gathered to Seiya's friend Devin back in Astaria, warning him of the potential danger the Tharkoldu pose. Nyx and Seiya disappeared and were not heard from again.

Fearing the worst had happened, Devin set off to discover what had happened to his friends. He discovered, to his surprise, a portal leading to the Tharkoldu realm in Astaria proper! He mustered all of his courage and went into the unknown, knowing full well that he may never return, yet realizing the importance of this task as well. He encountered a cyberdemon almost as soon as he entered the Tharkoldu homeworld and barely escaped with his life back to Astaria.

Knowing he could not do this by himself, he enlisted the aid of his love Miriam and his best friend Byron. Together, the trio were able to fight and defeat many demons, with Devin's cunning and speed in combat, Miriam's wits and mystical psionic energy, and Byron's knowledge of military tactics and healing powers.

They were soon noticed by the leader of the demons, a hideously powerful creature known as Thratchen. He ambushed them out in the open, far from cover and cut off from their portal. Such was his arrogance that he fought them by himself. This was his undoing.

Even so, Devin suffered a nearly mortal wound, and Byron almost died dragging his fallen friend to safety. Miriam, in her rage, tapped an unknown resource deep inside her mind and destroyed Thratchen's brain, killing the mighty demon.

But, even though Thratchen was defeated, the demons were not. Their new leader, whomever that may be, will not make the same mistake.

Utilizing the wits and intelligence of Miriam, the military mind and stronghold design and placement of Byron, and the vast wealth of Devin, they have created an outpost on the Tharkoldu homeworld, to defend Astaria from the might of the Cyberdemons. They are bringing the fight to the demons, lest Astaria be overrun by hoards of the would-be invaders. Clan Tharkold is all that stands in the way of the demon host's conquest of Astaria. They will need help soon, as the Tharkoldu Cyberdemon's power base is growing stronger by the day.

This help appeared, as suddenly and mysteriously as it disappeared, in the remergence of the mighty Seiya-Wu! He returned one day, when the fight seemed at it's darkest point, filled with new resolve and power to rid the realms of the host of evil demons. He had learned the path of the holy warrior and had been reborn as an Avatar of the mighty God Artrimas. With his guidance and leadership, the Clan continued along it's path of growth and prosperity.

Seiya left the realms after only being back a year. In this short time tho, the Clan had grown a few members larger and gained a level of organization it had not seen before. He gave the secret to his effective leadership to his brother Devin before he disappeared back into the portal to battle the evil with the power of Artrimas.

Devin is back now, changed forever by the storms beyond the portals. While his visage is that of a horrendous Lich, his demeanor, personality and reflexes are that of the old Devin. He is still bothered by dark dreams. So far, the dreams have not affected his abilities... so far...
