Up to the age of
thirty-five I had been trying to be "normal", as a policeman or
accountant, as an insurer or as a husband and father. But it was very
difficult for me, I was always interested in strange
things like martial arts, hypnosis, exoterism,
psychotherapy... In 1978 I left my family and career to go on a small sailing
boat (29 feet) to India, to live with my guru, but he went to the United States and after a world tour, to escape from the persecution of the
American Government, he went back to India.
So, following him, I sailed full time, for ten years, in the oceans, with no
radio and no electronics on board and I crossed the Pacific Ocean alone. I always
worked to live, in the countries that I visited, learning various crafts and
professions as a skipper and nautical technician, or as a mason and
carpenter, or building self-steering wind-pilots and power kites, as well as
a regular contributor in various spiritual communities, helping organizations
for people in difficulty. Now, fifty-eight year old, I have already published
two books and many dozens of articles. Recently I have started to become very
interested in computers for writing and designing and "surfing"
Internet.
