The Coopers travel to the desert, where a mysterious cavern has been discovered. Deep inside the cavern is an enormous door that has been buried by rocks and boulders. Some think that a great treasure exists beyond the locked door, while others believe a great evil is lurking behind it. As they try to piece together ideas and legends about the door, odd happenings occur. Earthquakes are suddenly felt without warning and a strange man begins appearing at their camp. Jay and Lila begin wondering just what could be behind the door that has caused such a great commotion in the town. As truths become revealed, the danger for the Coopers, and the world, increases. They can only ask themselves, "What does truly lie behind the door in the dragon's throat?"
A great start for a series. Peretti does a magnificent job at relating Bible verses to possible explanations. I did really enjoy this book.
