\ Spring.

Spring.

trees hang their naked branches forlornly
and storm clouds with dark angry faces
seem to cover the grey sky for miles
but occasionally, on this day in spring
the sun's golden fingers find small openings
in the dismal clouds and cast beams that
melt what's left of the small watery snowdrifts
and allow the sleeping grass to reawaken
  and live once more.
