Objectives: Students will be able to describe paintings, using some common verbs in the present tense. They will visit a famous museum in Italy and become familiar with some Italian art and Italian artists. They will also be able to recognize the portrayal of religion in Italian art.

Part I.- Describe a painting in Italian

Firenze (Florence)

Italy is a country well known for its famous art. Much of Italian art is influenced by the Catholic religion of Italy. Let's look at a painting by Cimabue (a famous Italian artist) from La Galleria Degli Uffizi in Firenze.

 Part II - Choose a painting to describe

  Step 1: Preview the floor plan of the gallery clikka qui

Step 2: We will visit room #2 (the same room as our Cimabue painting)

and choose a painting to describe.

Step 3: Use the same questions to describe the painting of your choice.

Step 4: Andiamo alla galleria degli uffizi

Click on gallery, then map and description

You will recognize the floor plan, click on room #2

SUMMARY:

Students share descriptions of paintings with the rest of the class orally.
