There are many misconceptions about how HIV/AIDS is spread below is a list of ways the virus is transmitted from one person to another.
#1.Blood *Very minimal risk unless a cut or open wound is involved*
#2.Semen
#3.Vaginal Secretions
#4.Breast Milk

Before you begin to make assumptions about each way let me give you some examples of how its transferred through these ways.
The main way that the virus can be transmitted is through the use of dirty needles through drug use or to some of your suprise through tattoos and/or body piercings if the needle is unclean. If a girl is pregnant and she is HIV positive the disease can be spread from mother to infant by either the transfer of blood while the child is in the womb, through the actual birthing process, or through breast feeding.

Sex is probably the most highly publicized way that you can recieve HIV, but if you use caution and protect yourself by either using condoms or remaining abstinent you lower the risk greatly of contracting the Aids virus through sexual intercourse. A widespread misconception about obtaining Aids through sex is people think mostly homosexuals have aids, but infact only 25% of homosexuals have HIV/AIDS as to the 75% of heterosexuals who do.

*Note earlier I had listed other ways that HIV/Aids could be transmitted but the risk is so minimal I just took them off.*
