Hindenburg The Hindenburg holds the record as the largest aircraft ever to fly this was established in the 1930's. Built by the Zeppelin Company, she could carry a gas volume of 7,062,000 cubic feet. When filled with hydrogen would produce 242.2 tons of gross lift. The Hindenburg was an astonishing 882 feet long. Initially the Hindenburg was to be filled with helium, but instead filled with hydrogen. The blimp would go on to explode later. I couldn't find that much information about it, but if I run across some more I'll put it up here.
