DR KARAN SINGH- A lifetime of sacrifice

Dr Karan Singh was born on March 9, 1931 at 4:15’ PM at Cannes, Paris (43N33; 07E01). The lagnesh Sun in the seventh house gives an unsettled life as he strives for the perfect elusive peace for his troubled home state Kashmir. In the navamsa, the Sun is in Taurus in the eleventh house showing that stability and rise will begin after marriage. The second lord Mercury also in the seventh house again indicates Dhanyoga and he was born in a wealthy family of the erstwhile Maharaja of Kashmir. The exchange between the fourth and twelfth lords Mars & Moon with both of them in debility resulted in the loss of the Kingdom as it acceded to the Republic of India. Since Mars is also the ninth lord, his father Raja Hari Singh did this honorable act. The yoga involving the fourth house fructifies at an early age and it was but natural that this happened in his teenage years. Venus is the lord of the Arudha Lagna and is placed in the ninth from it indicating his rise of fortune and rise in politics during the Venus dasa. The present dasa of the Moon placed in the seventh from Arudha Lagna does promise some fame and popularity, but not without problems. There is also good longevity of 81-90 years at least in the chart.

Jupiter and Mercury in trines to the Navamsa Lagna produce a man of sterling character and one well versed in various fields of knowledge. Ketu gives the much-needed spiritual inclination. He is well versed in all the traditional literature and is often delivering lectures on the Upanishads etc. The luminaries and Mars are well placed in the second and eleventh houses to add to his growth. Venus in the tenth gives stable fortunes. The present antardasa of Jupiter in the dasa of Moon started in September 1998. Excellent results are expected and he will become very popular amongst the people. Being the fifth lord in Dasamsa and being placed in the Lagna therein leads to a powerful yoga for the acquisition of power. Some ill health around April 1999 is not ruled out.

The present dasa of Virgo (1993-2000 AD) is very beneficial with Ketu in it and Venus in trines in the fifth house. Mars in the eleventh promises success in all competitive matters as Jupiter in the tenth gives excellent reputation. Rahu in the Badhak Rasi indicates tremendous obstacles from some foreign sources or other communities. This problem persists throughout Virgo dasa as Saturn in the fourth from dasa Rasi shows troubled domestic/ home affairs. Since the sign is the fifth from the Arudha Lagna, he will be very concerned about the people of J&K. Benefics in the third and sixth from dasa Rasi give tolerance and spiritual development. He has been speaking in various seminars on subjects like the Manduka Upanishad. Since the Moon is debilitated, Rajyoga is indicated showing his close association with the people in power. Specifically, the period July 1998 to May 1999 shows troubled domestic/ home affairs while the period May 1999 to March 2000 shows harmony and good governance for his people. Thus, there is no doubt that in the latter half of next year efforts will be made to bring peace to J&K. To have the best results, worship of Sri Ganapati and Sri Ram is advised.
