When Sri Dinanathji of ISKCON asked me to comment on and explain the chart of Srila Prabhupada, I was perplexed to find that the chart suffered from certain strong deficiencies that fail to explain the life of the greatest contemporary Vaishnava saint. The Birth date: 01 September 1896, approximate time at about 16:00 Hrs and place (in his maternal grandmother’s according to a Bengali tradition in the suburbs of Tollygunj) Calcutta 22 N 30 88 E 23 as given by himself were used to construct the first chart which had Capricorn in the ascendant and the Sun, Jupiter and Ketu in the eighth house in Leo. The presence of both Sun and Jupiter in the eighth house indicates Asura yoga and the native may not be religious or God-fearing. Although there is Dharmakarmadhipati yoga in the ninth house involving Mercury and Venus, the yogakaraka Venus is in debility. The tenth lord in debility will not give much name or fame, which is quite contrary to the real life events of the saint. Instead, accepting the fact that the time was approximate and that in the nineteenth century, use of time-pieces and watches was a rare thing in India, the chart has been suitably modified to Sagittarius ascendant (Chart A).

Let us examine some of the life events of the saint to determine the accuracy of the Chart. Sri Dinanathji was kind enough to provide the list of events till his overseas voyage. For a fuller appreciation, please refer to the book ‘ Prabhupada by Satsvarupa Dasa Goswami ‘.

1.Astrological Prediction: A pundit made a janma kundali and made the family happy by the auspicious prediction that at seventy, he would cross the ocean and become a great exponent of religion and open 108 temples. He received the name Abhay Charan.

This is the most vital prediction that changed the course of Krishna Consciousness in the world. Building/opening of temples is seen from the combination of the Sun and Jupiter. Unless these planets are associated with the Lagna or tenth house, the native will not be directly involved. With Sagittarius ascendant, the ascendant lord Jupiter is in the ninth house (Dharma) with the ninth lord Sun clearly pointing at the building of temples. Dr. B.V.Raman teaches that the ascendant lord placed in the ninth house with the ninth lord makes a person a worshipper of Vishnu and a religious and pious soul. Srila Prabhupada was a Vaisnava and a very great devotee of Sri Jagannath (the form of Vishnu Avatar Sri Krishna as worshipped in Puri, Orissa). The foreign voyage is better explained from the presence of these planets in the ninth house instead of the eighth house. The timing of the voyage is done from the ninth lord. Since the Sun is the ninth lord in the ninth house, the voyage was destined to be made in a year ruled by the Sun. The natural years of the Sun are 22, 48 and 70 years and since it is placed in the third Chaturthamsa, the pundit correctly predicted the latter age of 70 years. The opening of 108 temples is based on the perfect combination of the ascendant and ninth lords Jupiter & Sun (both indicating the temple) with Mokshkarak Ketu.

Using Vimsottari dasa, the event occurred in Mercury dasa. As the seventh lord in the tenth house with the tenth lord in exaltation, Mercury promises that the native will travel in a foreign country and become very famous. He will be virtuous, charitable and perform religious deeds there. With Sagittarius rising, the native has very high ideals, ethics and goals and is very broad-minded. With the ascendant lord in the ninth house with the ninth lord and that too as Jupiter and the Sun, the native would be a perfect representative of the Almighty Lord Krishna with the highest ideals and compassion.

2.Parents:

2.1 His father Sri Gour Mohan Das was a cloth merchant of the savarna vanik community of moderate income... His father's income was not more than Rs.250/- but there was no scarcity. His father was a pure Vaishnava and wanted to educate Abhay to prepare for the mission indicated by the astrologer. His father's disposition was cool, mother was darker skinned, chaste and religious but her disposition tended to be more fiery.

The ascendant lord in the ninth house indicates that the native will be like father and the deep Vaisnava faith and tradition were inherited from him. In the dwasasamsa (D-12 Chart) the ninth house is the emotional Cancer. Treating this as the ascendant of the father, the ninth lord Jupiter is well placed in the second house in Leo with the mokshkarak Ketu indicating that the father shall have devotion for the family deity (2nd house) and is a Vaisnava (9th lord Jupiter Vishnu is in the house of family). The ascendant lord Moon (clothes etc) is in the tenth house as Mercury is in the seventh house (Business) showing the profession as cloth merchant. Cancer explains the calm disposition of the father. Mother is seen in the fourth house in the D-12 chart. The combination of the Sun and Rahu is very delicate and can make the person a saint or a scoundrel. Rahu becomes a temporal benefic as its conjunction with the Sun makes it spiritual whereas the Sun becomes diabolical. Since the fourth house is Aquarius itself, Rahu is the co-lord of the ascendant and its temporal spiritual disposition would make the mother spiritual. However, other aspects like fiery nature were also imbibed from the Sun.

The fourth house Aquarius also explains the dark complexion of mother while the ninth house ruled by the Moon shows the father to be of fair complexion. Srila Prabhupada was of golden yellow complexion that can be best described by the Sagittarius ascendant in the Rasi & Navamsa Chart (Vargottama). With the ascendant lord in the ninth and the Sun in trines he would look like the father (fair). Instead, with the Capricorn ascendant (4 PM time) the Moon would be in trines making him resembles the mother (dark) instead.

2.2 In 1912/13 his mother Rajani died suddenly.

The event occurred in the second Shoola dasa (i.e. between 9 –18 years of age). Death of Mother occurs in the Shoola dasa of the eighth house from the sign occupied by the Sthira Matrikaraka or the trines to it. The Moon and Mars are in the sixth house in Taurus indicating that the Matri Shoola dasa of the airy signs can be death inflicting for mother. Between the 4th and 10th houses, the latter is stronger with two planets, thereby initiating the Shoola dasas for mother. The second Shoola dasa is of Libra (9-18 years) during which period Srila Prabhupada lost his mother.

This can also be verified using Vimsottari dasa. Treat the fourth house in D-12 chart as the ascendant of mother. The seventh lord is the Sun and is in close conjunction with Rahu. Thus, Rahu gives the results of the Sun, thereby not only making the mother very spiritual and fiery, but also acting as a maraka. Venus is in the eighth house in debility. Rahu and Venus are in shadastaka. She died very suddenly due to some ailment in Rahu dasa Venus antardasa.

2.3 1930 father leaves his body.

The death of Father happened in the fourth Shoola dasa (27-36 years). The Sthira Pitrikaraka has to be seen between the Sun and Venus. The Sun is stronger and is placed in Leo. The eighth house from Leo as per Vriddhas’ is Cancer. Hence, demise loss of father can occur in the Shoola dasa of the watery signs. Between the third and ninth houses, the latter is stronger and the Pitri Shoola dasa begin from Leo and proceed zodiacally @ 9 years per sign. The dasa of the watery sign Scorpio is the fourth i.e. from 27 to 36 years of age and the demise of father occurred.

Treat the ninth house (Cancer) as the ascendant of father. Jupiter is in the second house afflicted by Ketu and the second lord Sun is in the seventh house afflicted by Rahu. Father passed away in Jupiter dasa Sun antardasa. Vimsottari dasa gives excellent results if used in the divisional charts.

3. Personal Events:

3.1 (1899) He escaped narrowly to a burning when his cloth set on fire playing with matches and put the fire out. He retained a small scar on his leg.

Fire hazards are caused if the Navamsa Lagna or Karakamsa has the influence of Rahu and the Sun or Mars. The Atmakaraka is the chief planet responsible for taking the native in the path of spiritual development. If evil planets like Rahu, Saturn or Mars become the Atmakaraka, a saint is born as even the evil planets that normally teach the bad ways of materialism are now involved in teaching spiritualism. Thus, saints like Sri Ramakrishna Paramhamsa or Srila Prabhupada have Rahu as the Atmakaraka. The Karakamsa is Libra with Mars in trines in the ninth house. Mars also aspects the ascendant in the navamsa. The results of Rahu can be expected during the period of its dispositor Venus, as Rahu is alone in the Karakamsa. However, the Jaimini Sutras teach that if Venus is involved, the fire will be put out. Thus during Mars dasa Venus antardasa, the fire hazard occurred and the fire was also put out. Scars are present on the part of the body which has a powerful natural benefic that is afflicted or conjoined natural malefics. In the Rasi chart, Jupiter is in the ninth house (legs) conjoined the Sun and aspected by Rahu showing that the Scar shall be due to burning (Rahu & Sun).

3.2 (1904): started to learn Sanskrit and entered the Mutty Lal Free School.

The abilities are seen from the trines to the navamsa Lagna. Mercury in trines makes one adept at Mimamsa and languages. He will also be a good monk carrying the staff. Jupiter in trines to the navamsa Lagna makes one very skilled in Sanskrit and other subjects. The native is a versatile genius. He is a very accomplished author and is capable of undertaking Herculean tasks. Without Jupiter in trines to the Navamsa Lagna, it would have been impossible to translate and comment on the Srimad Bhagavatam. Thus, the Navamsa Lagna of Srila Prabhupada can only be a fiery sign and Sagittarius in vargottama easily explains his outstanding genius and capability. The Sun in trines to the Navamsa Lagna makes one adept at music, singing or the Bhagavat Gita. Srila Prabhupada loved bhajans and wholeheartedly participated in them. The Sun in exaltation in the fifth house (knowledge) with Jupiter shows that none can match him in understanding and teaching the Srimad Bhagavat Gita. Undoubtedly, he was the greatest Vaisnav saint of contemporary India. However, this must occur in the natural way. Thus, he started to learn Sanskrit in Rahu dasa (Rahu is AK the spiritual teacher) and Jupiter antardasa.

3.3 In 1905 a kula guru initiated him

Initiation into the Gayatri mantra is seen from the fifth and ninth houses. The fifth is the mantra house and the mantrapada (A5) is in Gemini in the Rasi Chart. Rahu the AK is in trines to the Mantrapada and aspects it. Jupiter is the ascendant lord in the ninth house (Dharma) with the ninth lord. The natural deity of the ninth house is Sri Maha Vishnu and the Adi Shakti of the ninth house is the Gayatri for a Hindu. Thus the initiation is closely connected to the ninth house. Rahu also aspects the ninth house. In the Navamsa, Rahu aspects the fifth as Jupiter is in the fifth house with the Dharma Karaka Sun. Initiation occurred during Rahu dasa Jupiter antardasa.

4 Spiritual Development:

4.1 (1902): Asked his father to have his own Radhakrishna murtis to worship and offer his food.

Upasana is examined in the Vimsamsa (D-20) chart and Srila Prabhupada has Aquarius the intellectual sign rising with its co-lord Rahu as the Atmakaraka indicating deep spiritual inclination and a strong desire to make an intellectual study of the scriptures. The lord Saturn is in the fifth house of love with the Moon (Sri Krishna) and adoration of Sri Krishna was the main theme under the Bhakti movement propagated by him. This would develop in the most natural manner in the dasa of Atmakaraka. Besides, the period of the lord of ascendant in any divisional chart is not detrimental to the affairs ruled by it. Thus in Rahu dasa Rahu antardasa, the idol of Sri Radha Krishna was brought for him by a pious father.

4.2 1922 met his mantra Guru Bhaktisiddhanta Swami for first time.

The Mantrarudha (A5) is in Sagittarius in the Rasi Chart aspected by its lord Jupiter and exalted Saturn. The fifth house ruling mantra is also aspected by Jupiter and Saturn. In the Vimsamsa, the Guru is seen from the ninth house/ lord. Venus is debilitated in the eighth house showing that the Guru will be a perfect sanyasi. Venus is aspected by a debilitated Jupiter in Capricorn (Saturnine sign) in the twelfth house of moksh as it disposits the fifth lord Mercury. Thus, Jupiter brings together Mercury and Venus the lords of Mantra and Guru. Similarly, the ascendant lord Saturn is in the fifth house of mantra and aspects the mantra lord Mercury. In Jupiter dasa Saturn antardasa, he met his mantra guru.

The learned readers can examine the other aspects of spiritual growth.

5. Vehicle

5.1 1924:Purchases a Buick car.

The perception of the people of the western world that Srila Prabhupada belonged to a lower middle class family is incorrect. An income of Rs 250/- in the early part of this century was a fine sum. In fact, Junior Engineers in the Government of India received around Rs 350 in 1960. The possession of a car was restricted to the elite of the society. It is not very difficult for a beggar to renounce the world, whereas the same is a daunting task for a king. It goes to the credit of Prabhupada that he renounced all luxuries for preaching the Bhagavatam. Purchase and possession of vehicles are examined from the Shodasamsa (D-16 Chart). The ascendant lord of D-16 chart is Jupiter while Mercury is the lord of the fourth house. Jupiter is in Virgo ruled by Mercury and in trines to it. Venus the significator of Vehicles is in the tenth house in Sagittarius. The imported vehicle was purchased in Jupiter dasa Mercury antardasa.

5. Education

5.1 1916: Began college at Scottish Churches, member of Sanskrit Society.

5.2 1920 passed BA examination.

Education is studied from the Siddhamsa (alias Chaturvimsamsa D –24 Chart). The ninth house rules the higher education. This is Aquarius co-owned by Rahu that is placed in Leo in the third house. The aspect of Rahu on its sign strengthens the ninth house and shows education in a foreign language. The college education commenced with Rahu dasa Sun antardasa. Since the Sun conjoins Jupiter, it gives very beneficial results for Gemini ascendant in the D-24 chart. Jupiter will give the results of the third lord Sun and will tend to disrupt education due to political activities. With the advent of Jupiter dasa, Prabhupada was drawn into the political struggle in his own saintly way. He was quite moved by the patriotic zeal of a senior college mate and later day freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose and contemplated to discontinue his education. However, he graduated in 1920 in Jupiter dasa Jupiter antardasa. As the lord of the tenth house in the Siddhamsa, Jupiter indicated the period of termination of higher education.

6.Marriage & Children:

6.1 1918/19 marriage with Radharani Datta.

Marriage should be timed from the upapada and the seventh house, especially in the Navamsa. The Upapada is in Aquarius with Rahu in it indicating a difficult spouse and married life. Rahu and Mars are in the seventh from the Navamsa Lagna. Thus marriage occurred in the Rahu dasa Mars antardasa. The antardasa planet indicates the nature of the person coming into the life of the native. Mars will indicate a passionate and fiery temper of spouse or one addicted to beverages like tea or tobacco.

6.2 First son born (1921)

The fifth lord in the Rasi chart is Mars placed in Taurus in the company of feminine Moon in the sixth house. Mars is placed in Gemini Navamsa indicating a few children (one or two). In the saptamsa, the fifth lord Venus is exalted (Male) and conjoined Saturn (Female) in a fruitful sign Pisces (Male). The male factors dominate to indicate a male birth. Thus, the first son was born in Jupiter dasa Saturn Antardasa.

6.3 1924 birth of daughter.

The seventh lord in the saptamsa chart shows the second pregnancy. Mercury is placed in Taurus (Female sign) in the company of the Moon (Female planet). Thus, the second child, a daughter was born in Jupiter dasa Mercury antardasa. As indicated earlier, the antardasa lord indicates the person. Since the first child was born in the antardasa of Saturn, he caused severe harassment and sorrow in the Saturn dasa. The daughter was more fortunate and it was in Mercury dasa that Srila Prabhupada attained the spiritual goal of spreading Krishna Consciousness throughout the globe. The third pregnancy will be seen from the ninth lord in the D-7 Chart. Since the ninth house has Rahu in it, more pregnancies will not be there.

7. Karma Yoga:

7.1 1921 gets an employment as departmental manager of the pharmaceutical company of Dr. Bose, a friend of his friend. He studied some books on chemistry on his own for this purpose; 1933-34 Debts and enemies, he leaves Dr. Bose's branch. Intrigues made him lose a position with Smith Institute, change of residence to Bombay.

Employment is seen from the fifth and tenth houses in the Dasamsa (D-10) chart. The employer is seen from the ninth house. In the Dasamsa, Mercury is the lord of the ascendant and tenth house and is placed in the twelfth house with Jupiter and Ketu. There will be hurdles and instability (Ketu) in profession. Jupiter gives employment in the company of Mercury, but in the 12th house makes the native of independent views. Being in the seventh house (maraka) from the sixth (service), instability in service due to secret enemies (12th house) is indicated. Saturn is the fifth lord giving authority and sixth lord giving employment. Saturn rules diseases and links the profession to curing diseases. Its placement in the ninth house with Venus (chemicals) shows that the employer (9th house) is a pharmaceutical company. He joined the service in Jupiter dasa Saturn antardasa. Rahu is placed in the sixth house of enemies and service and aspects Jupiter in the 12th house. Rahu also aspects the eighth lord (debts, resignation or retirement) Mars placed in the tenth house (reputation). Prabhupada suffered due to the intrigues within the company and left the job in Jupiter dasa Rahu antardasa.

7.2 1928 Helped to start a branch of his guru maharaja (Guadiya Math) in Prayag.

Venus is a Yogakaraka in the Dasamsa and is placed in the ninth house of Guru and spiritualism. It is also in the tenth house from Jupiter, which is placed in conjunction with the tenth lord Mercury. In the Chatrurthamsa (D-4) chart ruling properties and fortune, Venus is also a Yogakaraka and is placed in the ascendant. The holy Gaudiya math was started in Jupiter dasa Venus antardasa.

7.3 1936, 13 December His guru maharaja asks him to preach the message of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in English medium.

The dasa of Saturn, the great spiritual teacher had started and the event occurred in Saturn antardasa itself. In the Dasamsa Jupiter (Bhagawan or Sri Jagannath) and Mercury (1st & 10th lord: Primary karma of life) are in the twelfth house (spiritualism) aspected by Rahu (foreign language). Jupiter, Mercury and Rahu were transiting Sagittarius, the natal ascendant on 13 December 1936 as the luminaries were in the 12th house from them in Scorpio. The tenth house in the Dasamsa chart is very significant for lifetime achievements. Mars is in the tenth in a Mercurial sign. On 13 December 1936, the Moon transited Jyestha star (ruled by Mercury) in Scorpio (ruled by Mars). The message of the Guru Maharaja was to be the mission of Prabhupada’s life. This exemplary conduct of blindly following the advice of the guru can only come from a Sagittarius ascendant with the lord in the ninth house in the holy company of the ninth lord Sun. These are the distinguishing marks of a saint.

7.4 1938 moves to Calcutta, operates a small laboratory, producing distilled water.

Mercury is the 1st and 10th lord and its placement in the 12th house (7th from the service house) will make a person to work independently. Mercury is also the lord of the ascendant (home or birthplace) in the Chatrurthamsa (D-4 chart). In Saturn dasa Mercury antardasa, Prabhupada went to his hometown Calcutta to start producing distilled water (Moon is in the arthatrikona 2nd house).

7.5 1939 His guru bhai honour him with the title "Bhaktivedanta"

Titles and honors are seen from the tenth house. In the Rasi chart, the tenth lord Mercury is exalted in the tenth house promising the highest honors and titles. Some astrologers have blindly taken the ascendant as Capricorn with the tenth lord Venus in debility although it gets neechabhanga. The tenth lord indicates whether the native will be honorable. If the tenth lord is exalted, the native is always honorable, but if it is debilitated, he is never honorable. If there is neechabhanga, there will be short periods of the planets causing neechabhanga during which the native will become honorable. This has been one of the important reasons for fixing the Lagna of Srila Prabhupada as Sagittarius as the exalted tenth lord would cause Jaya Yoga. Besides, the ninth lord in the ninth house and the tenth lord in the tenth house give a lot of fame and good reputation. The title ‘…Vedanta" is seen from the Rajyapada in Gemini ruled by Mercury (Mimamsa). The most honorable title ‘Bhaktivedanta’ was bestowed on the saint in Saturn dasa Mercury antardasa.

7.6.1 1944 started his magazine, "Back to Godhead", and only a few numbers.

The darapada (A7) is in Virgo with exalted Mercury and debilitated Venus. Saturn in the eleventh house is very good for all-writing works and intellectual jobs. Being exalted, it has subha argala on the tenth house and its dispositor Venus. However, the argala of Saturn is fully obstructed by the Sun, Jupiter and Ketu. In the Dasamsa, Saturn and Venus are the lords of the trines and are placed in the ninth house showing higher learning and such activities related to study, writing and publishing. The nature of philosophical Saturn shows the subject as spiritualism…’ Back to Godhead’. The magazine was started in Saturn dasa Venus antardasa. The next antardasa of the Sun obstructs the argala of Saturn on the darapada and financial demands would result in the closure of the magazine.

7.6.2 1956 February, again began his magazine from Delhi.

After renunciation, the saint felt it would be opportune to revive the magazine. Mercury exalted in darapada will give the resources and good fortune for the same. The magazine was revived in Mercury dasa Mercury antardasa. As indicated earlier, Ketu obstructs the argala of Saturn and also afflicts Mercury in the dasamsa. Thus, in Mercury dasa Ketu antardasa, the magazine publication was stopped.

7.6.3 1958 October 28, revived his magazine after two years from Delhi.

The antardasa of Ketu was followed by the antardasa of Venus in Mercury dasa and as indicated, Venus joins Mercury in the Darapada promoting the magazine. Thus the magazine was again revived in this period.

7.7 1945 opens a pharmaceutical laboratory, "Abhay Charan De & Sons", with good success initially.

The direction of Saturn and Venus influencing the darapada encourage business activities. With an exalted Saturn in the eleventh and Venus as the eleventh lord, the initial results were bound to be encouraging, especially in the dasa of Saturn and antardasa of Venus. In the dasamsa, both these planets are in the ninth house showing the first employer as a pharmaceutical company. However, under Saturn dasa instead of Jupiter dasa, the tendency to have an independent profession would be marked in his life as both Saturn and the ninth lord are in the ninth house in the dasamsa chart.

7.8 1948 his manuscript comments on the Bhagavat Gita disappeared from his home, stolen by unknown person (perhaps by his son or a servant) to get some money. Loses Lucknow factory, involved in court case with the landlord.

Saturn can show its evil sixth lordship in the dasamsa as well as its evil second and third lordship in the Rasi chart. Mars is the lord of the eighth house in the dasamsa and its placement in the tenth house threatens destruction, losses, theft etc. of one’s valuable works. Thus, in Saturn dasa Mars antardasa the theft of the invaluable manuscript occurred. As indicated earlier, the ruling planet of the son would be Saturn as indicated in the chart of Srila Prabhupada and he could have committed this bad act.

7.9 1953 around May his servants stole all his money, medicines and valuables (loss of Rs.7, 000/- breaking the lock.) When he read the telegram at Jhansi, he laughed and said, "One great attachment has come to and end, and my life is now fully surrendered to Sri Sri Radha Madhav".

In the Dasamsa, Jupiter is the seventh lord ruling business and its placement in the twelfth house shows loss or closure of the business. Ketu conjoining Jupiter shows that a mistake or theft (Ketu) would be committed. In the Rasi chart, Jupiter is with Ketu in the 12th house from the darapada (A7) obstructing the argala of Saturn and indicating obstruction in business due to a sudden theft or such incident that will have a strong financial bearing. Thus in Saturn dasa Jupiter antardasa the theft occurred. The spontaneous reaction of Srila Prabhupada shows that he was a great saint. Who else can laugh away a business? Jupiter & Saturn are very spiritual planets and under their directions spiritual path is shown. The statement of the saint shows this deep understanding of the ways of Lord Krishna.

7.10 1954 His wife traded his holy Srimad Bhagvatam in the market for tea biscuits. She was addicted to tea. He told her many times that Vaisnava do not drink tea. So finally he said, "Now you have to choose between me and tea. She thought it was a joke, so she said, "Well I will give up my husband". A wave of absolute resolution passed over him. His family life was finished. He left forever.

Two important conclusions are derived from this vital incident that changed the history of Krishna Consciousness in the world. First is the fact that Mercury dasa had just started and for renunciation of family or sanyas, natural benefic planets should be in the third or the sixth house from the Arudha Lagna. If the benefic planets are also in the third or sixth house from the Upapada, then the spouse will take sanyas. If Capricorn is the ascendant, then the Arudha Lagna and the Upapada would be in Aries. Mercury in exaltation in the sixth house would indicate that the spouse would be as spiritual as the native and will renounce the world/ materialism along with the native. However, this did not happen. Instead, taking Sagittarius as the ascendant, the Arudha Lagna is in Aries as the Upapada is in Aquarius. The Upapada has Rahu in it showing that the spouse will disrespect Guru and Bhagavan and will reject the Holy Scriptures. Rahu in seventh or 12th house from the AL or UL makes the native or spouse spiritual whereas its placement in the UL makes the spouse sinful. Equating the most holy Srimad Bhagavatam with tea biscuits is among the most sinful acts that any person can do. As Mercury is in the sixth house from the Arudha Lagna in exaltation, the native will fully renounce violence and materialism and will become a monk. In the Dasamsa, Mercury is the lord of the ascendant and tenth house placed in the 12th house of renunciation and Moksh.

7.11 1959 September, accepted sanyas from Keshav Maharaj in Mathura.

As indicated renunciation (Sanyas) occurs during the period of natural benefics placed in the 3rd or 6th house from the Arudha Lagna Srila Prabhupada has Mercury and Venus in the sixth house from AL. Complete renunciation occurred in the Mercury dasa Venus antardasa. Finally, we can safely conclude that the ascendant of Srila Prabhupada was Sagittarius as given in the corrected birth chart.
