The Charleston, WV, Area Alumnae chapter is a branch of Alpha Sigma Tau national sorority whose purpose is to promote the ethical, cultural, and social development of its members. Many people recognize sorority membership as a college endeavor. However to help Alpha Sigma Tau fully realize its purpose, many members continue their involvement in sorority long after they have graduated from college. Because so many of these Alpha Sigma Tau alumnae now live and work in the Charleston area, we recently established a Hope Group to become an alumnae chapter dedicated to support Alpha Sigma Tau both on a national and a local level. As alumnae, we continue to be active in our community by supporting local philanthropic endeavors, while providing nearby Alpha Sigma Tau collegians with assistance in planning and conducting some chapter events. Equally as important, we get together once a month for a scheduled activity. It’s a great way for each alumnae to stay involved and to continue or rekindle friendships started in her college days!
