It is so hard
for us to get together and just have some fun as sisters that we
decided that instead of a formal meeting in the summer months we
would just get together. For June, we decided to meet at
Hibatchi's in Charleston to have an entertaining evening and good
food.
Amy
Hendershot, Amy Kozielec Griffith, Heather Tanner Walker, Tammy
Mynes St.Clair, Hope Adkins Fout, Christa Cox Milsap, June Starks
Ferrel, and Kristi Sampson Legg all found a bunch of fun in Flying
shrimp, flaming tables and chopstick lessons! Want to see some

The
Charleston, WV, Area Alumnae chapter met at Amy Kennedy Thurman's
house in Scott Depot. With the start-up of summer upon us,
there were very few members who could find time to meet this month,
so an informal meeting was held. Amy Hendershot, Amy Kozielec
Griffith, Hope Adkins Fout, Tammy Mynes St.Clair, Mia Burlingame
Ferguson, and Amy Kennedy Thurman were in attendance. (Wow!
Three out the 6 were Amy's!)
The
scrapbook party that was planned for this month's program was
cancelled due to the scheduling conflicts. We hope to have
Amy's presentation sometime in the fall. |
Thursday,
April 20, 2000 |
The
Charleston, WV, Area Alumnae chapter met at Kristi Sampson Legg's
house in Dunbar for the April meeting. We had many old faces
and several new faces there with Amy Hendershot, Kristi Legg, Libby
Akers, Heather Morris, Tammy St.Clair, Amy Griffith, Susan Nichols,
Christa Milsap, Lori Shaffer, Lesley Ridenhour, and Heather Walker
in attendance.
Being so
close to Easter, Kristi had us all ready for the Easter bunny with
egg dye, baskets, candy and bunnies. We had a great time
creating our tiny works of art! Want to see some pictures?

The

Hendershot, Mia Burlingame Ferguson, Emily Miller, Diana Conner
Eades, Kristi Sampson Legg, Missy Hatfield, Amy Kennedy Thurman,
Hope Adkins Fout, Christa Cox Milsap, and Heather Morris all in
attendance.
After the
meeting, a baby shower was held for Amy K. Griffith. It was a
total surprise for her--we couldn't believe that we pulled it off
without her knowing. Baby Cora is due on April 19th. To

Sunday,
January 21, 2000 |
The
Charleston, WV, Area Alumnae chapter met at Stephanie Mills' house
in Adena Village. Those in attendance included Amy
Hendershot, Mia Burlingame Ferguson, Susan Williams Nichols,
Stephanie Mills, Libby Williams Akers, Heather Morris, Hope Adkins
Fout, Amy Kozielec Griffith, Heather Tanner Walker and many of the
active sisters of the Gamma Mu chapter.
At this meeting,
we discussed the chapter's dues, our philanthropy projects for the
year, and social events. We are hoping to get more alumnae
involved--particularly those outside of Gamma Mu.
The program for
the evening was a Family Tree party. We wanted to show the
active sisters of Gamma Mu how we had all been related throughout
the years. Many of our alumnae still had branches of their
trees that contained active sisters. |

December 5, 1999 |
The first
official meeting of our Charleston, WV, Area Alumnae chapter met at
Hope Adkins Fout's home in Alum Creek. Those in attendance
included Amy
Hendershot, Mia Burlingame Ferguson, Susan Williams Nichols,
Stephanie Mills, Libby Williams Akers, Heather Morris, Tammy Mynes
St. Clair, Melissa Hatfield, Hope Adkins Fout, and Amy
Kozielec Griffith.
All officers
were elected, dues and programs were discussed, and many plans were
being made. We are all looking forward to getting our
philanthropy project underway, collect all of our dues, help our the
Gamma Mu chapter, and then get inducted as an official Alumnae
Chapter sometime in early Spring 2000.
The program for
the evening included our host, Hope, showing us all how to make
chocolate candies. She makes her own candies for Christmas,
Easter and the like and was thrilled to have us all covered in
chocolate. It was great fun! |
