Sleepless in Seattle (Story-line)
It was Christmas Eve, a little boy (Ross Malinger) in Seattle heard radio talk show host Marcia Fieldstone asked her audience what they were wishing for during this season of hope. He called in and told her he wished his father Sam (Tom Hanks) could find a new wife, because Dad's been so sad since Mom died a year and a half ago.
Across the country, along with millions of others listening to the show, Annie Reed (Meg Ryan) heard the boy and was immediately captivated. When Sam was persuaded to join the on-air conversation, something happened to Annie, something that'd never happened before in her life. Something like...magic.
Sleepless In Seattle is a film that unabashedly and humorously embraces the romantic notion of destiny: that if two people are made for each other, they will find each other despite distance, time or common sense. It is indeed a film of warmth, wit and romance.
