AC MILAN HOPES FOR GOOD '99 SEASON!
From the the manager of Milan
"AC Milan is happy with the way that the preseason has gone to day.
Hopefully, things will go well for the team, and the winning tradition
will continue. We, at the moment, have several things in the works, and
hopefully will be annnoucing some blockbuster moves in the near future."
BARI HOPES NEW SIGNINGS WILL BOOST TEAM PERFORMANCE!
AS Bari will, as you might have noticed, depend heavily on new players
for the coming season. No less than 12 players have been offered a contract,
including three youth prospects, which can hardly be worse than some of
the current players. Bari really hopes that the new signings can go ahead.
If it’s a question of money, AS Bari is said to be prepared to pay up to
150% of their current wages when bidding against another team. If the new
players can be signed, AS Bari might be able to surprise most opposing
teams, because they would normally expect a weaker team. Bari will release
press messages as soon as one of the signings are complete.

FIORENTINA FAN NEWS
New Fiorentina coach has signed 2 new players and released 1player.
The player sold was Collacchioni a youth player who was sold to Parma in
exchange for $0.6 We all at the club hope that his career will prosper
and wish him the best for the future The two new signings are Baglieri
bought from Lecce after stiff competition from Sampdoria for the sum of
$2 million on a two year contract. And the other is Dabizas Bought from
Olympiakos on a three year contract for $2.9 million. T Bridges feels that
the signing of these players will strengthen the midfield and defence respectively.
He also did not rule out the possibility of signing more players if he
felt it was prudent to do so. But at the moment he feels he has a decent
side and see`s there should not be any reason for the team not to finish
in the top five or six teams in the league. Finally may we at Fiorentina
wish everybody the best of luck.......Except when playing Fiorentina.
INTER TRIES TO "FASHION" A YOUNGER TEAM
While the pre-season is still running, Milan is already hypnotized
by 'Calcio'. The 'fashion Metropolis' will see another competing year between
its two major soccer clubs AC and Inter. The new Inter coach and team manager
Frank Tesch wants to build up a young, fresh, and aggressive team that
plays attractive soccer for the fans. Only players are welcome who are
playing with passion and their
whole heart, said Tesch in an interview recently. Therefore, Y. Djorkaeff,
who didn't feel fine anymore in Milan, preferred a club at the Mediterranean.
He was traded to Sampdoria for 2 youth
players, Palmieri, 2.5 million Euros, and Sampdoria's 1st draft pick.
This deal clearly reveals Inter's new course trying to integrate young
talented players. Moreover the three free agent picks Zunico, Konjic, and
De Paola contribute to a further decrease of the team's average age. Inter
could sign three of four wanted players from the free agent list. The first
choice player defender Babayaro didn't accept despite a $4.5 million bid
for 5 years and signed with Parma that will pay him $0.5 million more per
year. All player contracts but one were extended. The Argentine midfielder
Zanetti played a bad season and has been conspicuous throughout the entire
season by being late and complaining about the food before the matches.
He is seeking a new club, which hopefully serves Argentine steaks.
In principle, the necessary transactions are done so far. The only unhappy
player is goal keeper Pagliuca, since Tesch will set on Frey and Zunico.
Pagliuca has asked the team manager to release him yesterday. Tesch:'If
we received an official acceptable offer for Pagliuca, we would let him
go'.

THE MANAGER OF LAZIO SPEAKS!
From the the manager of Lazio
"I think that I have a Team with a lot of possibilities to win the
Championship and I'm going to try it with all my skills. At first, I have
though that any player on my team would not be sold but with Marcelo Salas
I have done the exception. Chris Finley (The manager of the JUVENTUS) asked
me about Marcelo Salas and I answered him that only if he would sell Henry
(one of his younger players with good skills and I suppose that his skills
can improve a lot further. I hope this is true, and that I have done a
good trade!) On the other hand I think that I need another two new defenders,
because that I have tried signing some of the the free agents twice. I
am still determined to find two more defenders."
PARMA SHOWS CONFIDENCE
The fans of Parma have high expectations towards their club. The management
knows, that there are a few better teams and some are equally good, but
still, Parma wishes to be in the top 3 at the end of the season. With good
management and a bit of luck, Parma could even win the championship. The
Parma management will always be open for any mid-season talks with
other teams. Parma wishes good luck to every team.

PIACENZA CLOSE THE PAGLIUCA DEAL BEFORE SEASON OPENER!
Piacenza have today announced their shock new signing that is sure
to stun the football world. Piacenza manager Mark Douglas has revealed
his first signing is non other than Italian International goalkeeper Pagliuca,
signied from Inter in a player plus cash swap deal. "I have waited for
the right player to come along before dipping into my transfer kitty. Managing
one of the smaller clubs means I cannot simply splash money everywhere
like some of the so called 'glamour' clubs seem to be doing. I am delighted
to have secured Pagliuca for this club, and hopefully there'll be a few
more surprises over the next few weeks."When asked by a journalist as to
why he had chosen Piacenza over some of the other clubs known to be after
his signature, the big number 1 said "Well, the boss is ambitious to turn
this club into one capable of challenging for honours, and told me I was
to be the first signing of what, hopefully, will many top players coming
to the Galleano Stadium to be a part of this very exciting time for the
club. It was a challenge I could not refuse."Douglas would not reveal who
his next signing would be, but did say he is in search for a quality defender,
and is at the moment trying to find out if there's anyone available. "There
doesn't seem to be anyone tranfer listed" said Douglas "now I have made
it known that it's a defender I'm after, maybe a manager from another club
will contact me if he wished to do business."As for his plans for the season,
Douglas said "I think the fans were expecting to be watching yet another
religation battle, but with this signing, I'm sure you can all see I hope
to do better than that. I'm sure with our passion and determination, and
of course good football, we can surprise more than a few teams this season."

8 NEW PLAYERS in Rani Sarkis's bid to make the side a competitive one,

were Dutch and Danish Supergoalkeepers, Peter Schmeichel and Edwin Van
Der Sar, as a result the club has transfered it's number one goalkeeper
Konsel. Other players were Chelsea's Gianfranco Zola, Fabio Junior, Simao,
Amavisca, Ketsbaia, and Pirlo.

for a successful season.

SAMPDORIA MANAGER IS BUSY!
Sampdoria has recently made a number of swaps, Adding foward Djorkaeff
from Inter Milan and midfielders Baggio and Boghossian from Parma. These
swaps were seriously costly to sampdoria, having them lose a total of 4
players altogether, lots of money and a draft pick next year. Sampdoria
management feals that it is necessary to choose to add these veterans and
to make Sampdoria a better team overall at the cost of youth. In addition
to these trades Sampdoria has gained free agents Petit, Filipescu and Berezowski
from the player market at a great cost. Now with Ortega, Djorkaeff, Montella,
Baggio, Boghossian, Laigle, Berezowski, Lassissi, Sakic and Petit as the
starting lineup, Sampdoria is looking much better than it has for years.
