Swinburne of Settrington, Yorkshire
Swinburnes are found at Settrington, Yorkshire from at least 1543 until 1700 or later. Settrington is a small village about 10 miles south of Pickering, Yorkshire. There are also some church records of Swinburnes in several surrounding villages such as Malton, Kirby Misperton and Wharram le Street. A large branch of Swinburne's were living in Pickering from at least 1834 onwards (see Michael Swinburn of Pickering, Yorkshire). The village of Slingsby is also within 10 miles and this was one of the residences of Thomas Swinburne born 1754, a grandson of Sir John Swinburne of Capheaton, Northumberland
