Conservative Board Members Defeated in Attempt to Short Change Harrisville Citizens!

Last night our Board passed a motion to proceed with a bond issue to fund renovations at both Har-Mer and the Middle School.

Bill Adams, Greg Angerett, John Youngman, and Edwin Christmann vote NO.

This vote to fund the renovations comes just one week after a consultant recommended that the district use regular "stick" construction rather than "prefab" construction because there is not a dime's worth of difference in the cost.

Bill Adams was the person behind the prefab concept and was still pushing for it last night despite the recommendations.

This is a stunning defeat for Adams and the others.  Only time will tell how these members will react to this defeat. Adams was visibily angry and did his best to discount the consultant's findings.

Take note that all the members, except Christmann
( who represents SR Boro), who voted NO to the renovations are from the southern part of our district.
