as well as a letter grade to let you know
how helpful I feel each cite might be to
my visitors!
Why write?
With words, we can capture life
crystallic and pure,
taste life, touch passion and pain
see the world through newly opened eyes.
Share your vision
and your voice with others
For not everyone has found their own
Read great works, famous and undiscovered
By living the art of others you will grow
and write every day,
write vividly,
write fervently,
write life.

One of my most favorite poems:
Young

A thousand doors ago
when I was a lonely kid
in a big house with four
garages and it was summer
as long as I could remember,
I lay on the lawn at night,
clover wrinkling under me
the wise stars bedding over me,
my mother's window a funnel
of yellow heat running out,
my father's window, half shut,
the eye where sleepers pass,
and the boards of the house
were smooth and white as wax
and probably a million leaves
sailed on their strange stalks
and the crickets tickled together
and I, in my brand new body,
which was not a woman's yet,
told the stars my questions
and thought God really could see
the heat and the painted light,
elbows, knees, dreams, goodnight.
