One of the unique aspects of America is its freedom of religious expression. There is not a government or religious institution that watches to make sure everyone believes the same. No department in government watches to make sure all Christian organizations remain Christian. It is not surprising to find in America many religious groups that have formed that will sound very Christian to a foreigner but are false Christians.

Marks of true Christians: There are 3 marks of a true Christian. The first mark is right love. “Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” And, “Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” The second mark is a right life. “No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.” And, “Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.” The third mark is right belief. “Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” And, “Who is the liar? It is the man who denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a man is the antichrist-he denies the Father and the Son. No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.” (All quotes are taken from the book I John in the New Testament.) The three marks of a Christian are important for there are groups that have only part of the three; right love, right life, and right belief.
