An Easy Option

The time is rife

to dwell

on the precise meaning of life,

to quell

and torment

all contra-motions

to my visions of salvation...

...And, by tax-deductible invitation,

spend a care-free weekend,

possibly two,

with tackle,

weights

and low cholesterol baits,

fishing in the neighbour's loo...

...or helping him

erect

needless fourth bedrooms

in his overcapitalised

yet unmortgaged hut...

Is it the right bloody time

to dwell

on the precise meaning

of life?
