The Apple Tree

High on a sunny hill
stands a red apple tree.
It's bright and green
with the most redish apples they'll ever be.

One day a little boy
ran up there to pick some apples.
He was with such exhuberrant joy
that he stumbled many times over the sack for the apples.

Under the big apple tree
in the cool shade,
lie unseen
apples that once were red, but now are pale.

What has happened
to such beautiful red apples?
The boy picks up the rotten apple to see,
it's been eaten by worms and they're disgusting to see.

The apples that were thrown from the tree
were thrown for their own greed,
as hate consumed their hearts,
their minds were fed by greed.

So these apples fall
to the deadly ground,
where they are vulnerable
to everything around.

They'll pay
for they did not obey.
Now they'll decay
as normal apples do.
