Nothing works properly !

Have you noticed that nothing seems to work properly and how much effort  in everyday life we devote to repairing things that have broken down?

Cars break down and garages, the A.A. (Automobile Association) or R.A.C. (Royal Automobile Club) are called out.
Central heating breaks down and engineers have to be called in.
Televisions and Videos don't work and have to be repaired.
Our bodies break down and have to be "repaired" by Doctors, Dentists and Opticians.

Our possessions don't work as the manufacturer designed them to work. We don't "work" as the person who "designed and manufactured us" intended.
God is the person who created us and the way he intended us to "work" and live was in a relationship with him.

We though decided to go our own way and live without God.
"All of us were like sheep that were lost, each of us going his own way".
God calls this going our own way sin, and this results in us being separated from God.

How do we get repaired, so we work properly?.
Well we can't put ourselves right ourselves and reach God's standard through our own efforts.
It would be like trying to swim the Atlantic Ocean, good swimmer or poor swimmer, all would fail to cross the ocean.

Often you bring in a repair-man when you realise you can't put things right yourself, and so with God, you need to realise that you cannot "repair" yourself.
Jesus came to earth to "repair" us.

Things that don't work are often "scrapped".
God doesn't want us to be "scrapped" but restored to "full working order".

"For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die, but have eternal life".

So how do you contact God?
By prayer, if you really want God to give you a new life.

A suggested prayer:
Lord Jesus, I am sorry that I have been going my own way instead of your way. Thank you for dying to take away my sin. Please come into my life and make me the person you want me to be. Amen.
