Father, if it is Your will, remove this cup from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done...Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him. And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. And His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground....Luke 22:42-44

When He rose up from prayer, and had come to His disciples, He found them sleeping from sorrow.  Then He said to them," Why do you sleep?  Rise and pray, lest you enter into temptation." 

Soon Jesus was betrayed with a kiss from Judas and delivered to Pilate...Pilate asked, What evil has this man done?  But the crowd insisted that Pilate release Barabbas and crucify Jesus....When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, "I am innocent of the blood of this just Person.  You see to it."
