The name "To Write Love on Her Arms" is derived from the actor Joaqin Phoenix. The founder of TWLOHA, Jamie Tworkowski, had gotten the chance to meet the brilliant actor. While on the set of Walk the Line, Tworkowski noticed that Jauqin Phoenix wrote all his ideas down on his arms. He had no notebook, paper, or secratary; he just wrote everyting with black sharpie on his arms. This had made a significant impact on Jamie that he started to do it too. When having troubles one week, Jamie decided to write the word "LOVE" on his arm. He didn't care what people's reactions would be. He said it was a good thing for everyone to see.
