        I love to cook. Learning how to cook has been a life long process for me. At a very young age I started helping my mom in the kitchen. For many years I was more of a hindrance than a help but my mom didn't mind. I have probably learned more about cooking from watching and listening to my mom than from any otherplace. In 8th grade I took a foods class and that was alot of fun. We learned how to make many different things and I was able to collect many recipes. The only recipes I have attempted that I wasn't able to make have been for different types of candy. I think that candy is probably one of the most difficult things to cook. My first attempt at making candy was several years ago when I tried to make divinity. I didn't understand what the reciepe meant by "soft-ball stage" and so I over cooked it. Then when I tried to mix the heated syrup into the eggwhites the beater was on too high so bits of candy flew everywhere. I thought the situation couldn't get any worse when the candy began to harden...
