Love Isn't What You Feel
It Isn't What You Get
It Is What You Do
And What You Give
If I love you:
- I will be patient with you
- I will be kind to you
- I will not be jealous over you
- I will not brag or put myself above you
- I will treat you with respect
- I will not seek my own good above yours
- I will not easily become angry with you
- I will not keep track of wrong things you have done
- I will not be happy over sin or misfortune in your life
- I will rejoice over the truth which I see in you
- I will bear your burdens with you
- I will always believe in you
- I will always hope for the best in your life
- I will endure anything which comes into our lives together
This description of how true love behaves is a modern day
paraphrase of First Corinthians 13 in the New Testament.
