Sky's music may be candy-coated pop, but singer/songwriters James and Antoine most definitely are not. The Montreal-based pop duo behind the upbeat hit song "Some Kinda Wonderful" are into skydiving, giant tattoos and various body piercings. James, the one with hair, recently shaved off his goatee in favour of a silver stud beneath his lower lip. "He [Antoine] dared me to get a piercing," James says. "Yeah, after I got my tongue pierced," Antoine interjects, "I bugged him; I said, 'You look too clean, mean, you gotta f-- that faceup a little bit, and then I said the "B" word-I said, 'Man, you look to nice, you look like one of the Backstreet Boys.'"

The Sky guys like to shake up more than just their looks. They hop people hear not only the boppy, swinging tracks, but also the occasional twisted lyric that differentiates them from their top 40 counterparts. "For the people who do take the time to read the lyrics, we wanted to shock them a little bit," James says. "The song ["Some Kinda Wonderful"] is really poppy, almost Whan!, but when it was done, we thought, 'Okay, now we have to offset that a little bit.'" Indeed, on their debut album, Piece of Paradise, Sky comes across as the wild-child duo ina world of boy bands.
