OH, & don't worry about the site counter, this is indeed my personal website (Society homepage) and is listed w/over 20 search engines for things/words like WWII, Hawkeye Pierce, (M*A*S*H), philosophy, psychology and "Tommy" so many hits have therefore been recorded. I also once listed this as the homepage on the Yahoo IDs that I created for my father (williamcharles26) & 2 older brothers (christopherscott67 & stephenjames70). OK, here are some PICTURES OF ME BELOW, done the best way I can, (meaning I can only insert a sub-page link at this point, so don't laugh at my ignorance TOO much...smile):

TOMMY'S PICTURES!!!

This site is new, (initially built 6/99), and so am I to this whole "Internet Interaction" thing, so bear with me. This is my first stab at public communication via this medium. You may find, someday, that I've become famous, (whatever that may mean), and after reviewing this tacky homepage (smile) maybe you'll see how, (and maybe I will too, haha).

I am a poet and writer at heart, and have tried to be so since being 6 years old but am lucky enough to be a young professional in Human Resources and am now an HR Consultant working out of a firm in Cary (but, I would still give everything up in a heartbeat for writing, without a doubt). Mostly, I am a natural at not just Human Resources but Psychology. I have finally started college (@ 27) through work, attending North Carolina State University for my BA in Psychology w/HRD (Human Resources Development) then my PhD.

Go below to see that as of the last update I'm a 29 year old caucasion American (father is 100% Irish & his parents immigrated from Ireland to NJ in the 1920's RIGHT before he was born. He himself was 1 of 13 children, number 12, next to last)! At my worst I'm probably still just a normal/regular guy (whatever that means...lol) so that's hopefully as bad as it gets. That means I'm pretty lucky when I really think about it, which I should remember more often but don't. Especially when I realize how much I love and cherish my friends & family, including Emily whom I've spent the majority of my 4+ yrs with while here in Raleigh (I myself moved here 6/96 from Syracuse, NY after a year home there following the Navy).

The fast description of who I am is: "Irish Roman-Catholic, Dynamic Personality, Aries, born in the Year Of The Tiger (1974)..." (laughs). Also, if you use yahoo's instant messanger, I'm "hawkeye_pierce2" and if you use AOL's (AIM) I'm "tommy of NC" as you see it w/no underscore, just spaces. For ICQ users my # is 44845777 but I rarely log on to it and don't even have it currently installed.

Sign into my guestbook and leave me messages, search GeoCities and/or check out this site's hit-counter. All these items can be found at the very bottom of this. Also, directly below is a weather magnet, useful if you're not in my area and want to "see" what it's like here as you browse my page, and/or just enter your own zip code and get the scoop!

As you'll notice, I'm growing and this site is proof. So, we'll see. Hopefully people that see this site from today on are new friends, ones I find as I finally begin my exploration of those who live closer to me, something I should have done a long time ago. After 3yrs here, I'm just starting to find out how many very interesting things are here in the Triangle and North Carolina that I hope to get to know more as time goes on.

If you've come here, it is because I want you to know the person I've become so that you can understand that I am both real and hopefully worth knowing. My feelings and desires are sincere, honest and completely humane, though @ times (like most people) I say & do regretful things and make mistakes...lol.

Lastly, however, everyone must understand my ultimate reason(s) for being "here" (both online and real life). That reason primarily being a lifelong search for love, truth, justice, deeper meaning, cosmic possibilities and overall understanding. Of what you ask? Exactly...I don't know either! I had trouble at first w/this, both personally and technically, but ended up overcoming those challenges, including writing in HTML, and ended up designing this page from scratch. So again, please bare with me. Days, weeks, and even months down the road this thing could actually GROW! If you stick with it then so will I (6/99).
Welcome to my Society homepage. The nation, the world and the overall universe as we know it have always been some of my favorite subjects and I've tried to collect a lot of stuff and tell a lot about myself, I think you'll be interested. So, please take a look around and enjoy yourself. I try to add new material regularly to keep my site fresh, so check back often. It's difficult because "real" life is so busy and demanding, (as it should be!)

...meeting interesting people from any background imaginable. Social diversity is instrumental in my growing view(s) of the universe as we know it. I pride philosophy and psychology above all else as the master keys to life and its meaning.

I am an avid sports fan, historian, entertainment buff (future mogul? haha) automotive buff and wannabe collector, athlete, and PARTY fanatic (I engage in physical and mental recreational activities of an interesting variety like all other red blooded young Americans, although with some proper and realistic limits)!

It should be obvious that I'm a socially dynamic personality of Irish/German descent from Upstate New York. I am 27 (as of this page's creation) and now live in Raleigh/Durham, NC w/my girlfriend and best friend Emily, working in Cary as an HR/Benefits consultant. I'm also an Aries and, believe it or not, a news, global finance and politics hobbiest!

By the way, everything I say, both in general and here, is true. There is no logical reason to do otherwise at this point. I, in all honesty, am doing this page today (6/17/99) because I'm home from work and it's fun. I have played in this medium for about a year or so and keep wondering when it's going to be as much fun as everyone says or thinks. This is one aspect, a homepage, that I've been interested in for some time.

THINGS I WISH I COULD DO: race and own cars and/or planes once I'm wealthy, (or right now if I could), snow-ski and scuba dive more and play golf & tennis better.

THINGS I'M GOOD AT: writing novels, poems, stories, racing/routine driving, swimming, football, BASEBALL...(had a scholarship to LeMoyne College in Syracuse for baseball but blew it because I loved the Navy and just HAD to go see what it was all about...what silly, youthful ideas...lol), basketball, boxing and Chinese Kung Fu (primarily Sticky Fingers and Bil Gee), volleyball, games, DARTS and POOL, CARDS (like pitch, spades, hearts, euchre, pinochle, POKER AND BLACKJACK) computer technologies, psychology (I have hard earned social & interpersonal skills), philosophy, social/business/financial/political analysis, cooking, public speaking (communicating in general) and criminal justice/law including civil rights.

THINGS I WANT TO DO: write successful novels, commercials, movies, guest-write some favorite tv shows, newspaper/magazine articles or stories and then use that publicity to publish material that matters most. This includes religious and political analysis, financial and sociological material and most of all, breakthrough methodologies in psychoanalysis.

THINGS I WANTED WHILE GROWING UP: to be a lawyer after attending Harvard and living in Boston, to be a writer and live in Vienna or Munich, race cars, play baseball, sail ships, fly planes, write history, find God and figure out the meaning of life, (I had a moment of clairty that will shape my life for all eternity when I was 8 years old about life, God and the meaning of the very Universe itself).

THINGS I WAS: A National Champion speed skater (roller skating) from 4 to 16, (when I quit because it wasn't cool anymore & I finally had a driver licencse,) a Yeoman in the United States Navy, an All Star shortstop starting in Little League at 10 all the way through graduating high school, a terrible student through school since I missed exactly 29% of my attendance from 4th grade through 12th, (I NEVER ONCE did home work grades 10-12 and missed over 80 days out of 181 day in 11th grade alone, ugh)! I'm forced to admit, I scored an even 1400 (800 English plus 600 on the CRAPPY SUCKY MATH part) and better yet, I DID at least score nigh 100 on all my tests, ones that I wasn't even in class for but please understand that this has not helped one bit, since I screwed so much up by hating and skipping school. Don't think I'm bragging because I have almost no right to now, looking back, and what I did was next to pathetic.

OVERALL I AM: a great person and friend, dedicated professional, (whether in HR now or someday as a communicator via writing or speaking), Caucasion heterosexual 27 year old male that is 69in tall weighing ~135lbs with brown hair and brown eyes of slender but athletic build. I can dunk basketballs once in a great while and seemingly run faster than most human beings, which is something I've only recently learned, heh. I smoked 2+ packs a day of regular Marlboro soft packs from 16 to 24 but quit forever on 12/20/98 by accident, (I had strep throat). I also drink "whenever it's available" and am therefore a quintessential pure Irish born Aries (March 24th) born in the Year of the Tiger (1974) teehee.

OKAY, ENOUGH OF THAT, THERE IS/ARE JUST TOO MANY FAVORITES TO POSSIBLY REMEMBER AND LIST...

I WOULD LIKE/WISH TO: hike, camp, dive, travel, sail, fly aircraft, swim, write, create, debate, love, box, kick-box, travel, explore, publish, party and recreate, (by the way, my very favorite thing in the known universe is women).

MY THEME, QUOTES & WISH ARE:

(THEME) "Live well to die well."

(QUOTE) "...to thine own self be true..." (Sir William Shakespeare)
(QUOTE) "A Man Who Stands For Nothing Will Fall For Anything." (Martin Luther King, Jr.)

(WISH) "I wish for wealth, health and happiness for myself, my friends & family and all the other living and non-living things in the universe that ever were, are now and will ever be." Also..."Peaceful co-existince for all the universe's inhabitants as we explore every aspect of life for all eternity, growing closer to truth and higher levels of consciousness, all under the glory and grace of God."

I wish these two wishes above every time a clock turns 11:11, I see the first evening star, a falling star...even when I get an eyelash or say my prayers at night, (which I mostly stopped doing most of the time within the last 1-2 years and I don't know why). I say each of these two wishes exactly as you read them above...every time, verbatim!

MY PERSONAL LIFE CONSISTS OF: Living/working here in the Triangle (Raleigh/Durham/Cary/Chapel Hill, NC) and once w/great person, love, soul mate & best friend Emily [note: she's now back in NY since 10/01 sadly and her mother is terminally ill, every positive thought I have is with her every minute of every day]. My best friend since we were 12 lives here as well and is the reason I moved here, Robby Steinruck. A terrific, hard working now-76 year old father, William (Bill), still living and working 40+ hrs a week back home in Syracuse, (retired from Carrier Corp. as a welder on Halloween 1988 after 20+ yrs but hasn't stopped working or going out 1-2 nights a week dancing)! A now-54 year old mother, Cher, who was living here in Raleigh since her divorce from my step-father of 11 years (he was great and so was his whole family, it just didn't last I guess), but is now living in Poughkipsee (NY) w/George since spring of 2001, her terrific new husband that she met here spring of '99. By the way, Syracuse is where I was born and lived until going into the Navy at 19, then spent a year from 5/95 to 6/96 there after honorable discharge and moved here to Raleigh/Durham, NC 6/96. Also have a [half] brother named Gene and [half] sister named Liz that are nearly as old as my mother (from my father's first of two marriages). Both of them live in Syracuse still as well. My father's second (and last) marriage was to my mother. They divorced when I was 2 (in 1976) and have been best friends ever since, I had the best of both worlds, even though we did not have money per say or college exposure, etc. My brothers and I always seemed to have everything we needed + more and often what we wanted, simply have great parents! Which reminds me of the most important part of all this...my 2 brothers! I have a now-35 year old [full] brother named Christoper Scott (we call him Scott) that is a deputy sheriff for Onondaga County (Syracuse) and a now-32 year old [full] brother named Stephen James that was always in trouble of one sort or another (still is this very moment but it seems this is the last of it). Both are also still in Syracuse. I, therefore, am the youngest of 3 boys (the youngest of 4 boys and 1 girl if you count my older half-brother and older-half sister). My father is full blooded Irish (his parents, long passed away since before even my mother was born, came from Ireland in the 20's right before he was born). He was born in Jersey City, NJ in March of 1926 (1 of 13 children) and moved to Syracuse around 1950 or so during the abovementioned 1st marriage with 2 children. This after having returned in 1944 from having his ship torpedoed and sunk by a German Uboat in the North Atlantic while ferrying cargo to Murmanks in Russia (he was in the Merchant Marines). My mother is from Herkimer, NY and married my father right at 18 after being raised in a girls home (House of Good Shepard) most of her life without her core family (though we know her family well now and have pictures, she was not an orphan and now her father [my grandfather] is a huge part of our lives over these last ten years). That's really all there is except Scott has an now-13 year old son from a divorce (his only marriage) and Stephen has FOUR sons w/FOUR different mothers (wow)! This page is more for me than you, an electronic auto-biography for reference, like my own personal (modern) touchstone. That's what it turned out to be, anyway. I had no idea (and still don't) what this page should be r can be, so let's wait and see.

Goodbye for now, I forgot and/or missed alot of stuff so I'll try this again within a few months.
