Gods

Amatheon - Welsh magician, son of Don, who taught his craft to his brother
Gwyddion. His theft of a dog and a roebuck from Annwn (the Welsh Otherworld)
caused Cad Goddeu (The Battle of the Trees).

Anubis - Jackal-headed Egyptian god who presided over embalming, the 
conducting of souls to the Underworld and the weighing of their hearts against
Ma'at's red feather.

Apollo - Twin brother of the goddess Artemis.  A Greco-roman god of the sun,
fertility, light and truth, medicine, music, poetry, fine arts and eloquence.

Arawn - Welsh king of Annwn.  He fought Cad Goddeu against Amatheon and
Gwyddion. Sometimes cited as the last and final husband of Arainrhod in her
guise as a death goddess.

Ares -	Greek god of war and violence.

Bacchus - Roman god of wine and drunkenness.

Bishamon - Japanese god of war and good luck.

Bran - Welsh son of Llyr and brother of the goddess Branwyn, who
rescued her from her husband, who treated her ill.  Also known as
Bendigeidfan, "Bran the Blessed".

Cernunnos - The only name known for the Green Man of the Celtic Isles.  The
Green Man is a mysterious woodland deity who cares for the forests and all
trees.  He is said to be of man-form, green in color, and dressed in leaves and
bark.

Dylan - Welsh sea god, son of Arianrhod by Gwyddion.  He fathered Morgan on the
Lady of the Lake.

Herne -	The only known name for the Horned God of Britain.  He and Cernunnos
may have been the same deity.  The Horned God is known as the Opener of the
Gates of Life and Death, the Great Father, and the Lord of all Nature.

Llew -	Welsh son of Arianrhod by Gwyddion.  He married Blodeuwedd and was
betrayed and killed by her.  He was brought back to life by Gwyddion and his
great-uncle Math.

Loki - Scandinavian trickster god.

Mercury - Roman god of communication and travel, the messenger of the gods and
the patron of merchants.

Myrddin - An early Welsh legendary bard, magician and seer.  Over time he has
become Merlin, Taliesin, and Emrys.

Morpheus - Greek god of dreams.  He dwelt in the Underworld alongside his
father, Thanatos, and his uncle, Hypnos.

Nwyvre - Welsh husband of Arianrhod.  Little is known about him.

Pryderi - Welsh son of Pwyll and the goddess Rhiannon.

Pwyll -	Welsh king who ruled Annwn in Arawn's stead, and the first husband of
the goddess Rhiannon.

Raiden - Japanese thunder god.

Taliesin - Taliesin means "radiant brow".  Welsh son of Cerridwen, who gave
birth to him after swallowing Gwion.

Thoth -	Egyptian god of all magic.  He is a moon god who rules over
writing, inventions, the arts, divination, commerce, healing, initiation,
music, success, wisdom, medicine, astronomy, 	geometry, surveying, drawing,
the sciences, the measurement of time, archives, judgment, rituals, the law,
astrology, speech, arbitration, balance, mental powers, theology, reading,
peace, learning, books, truth and fate. (It's amazing that he found time to
have children with his wife, Ma'at.)
