The Origin of Clan Co.Rpse

"At the end of a long path I come to a dark, musty room whose door crept open before me as I walked forward. Flames sprung out of a pit in the north corner of the room, illuminating a small, blood stained book that rested on a pedestal in the centre of the room. An ageless voice filled the air around me.
"I am named Darna. I wrote this history in the hopes that I could be allowed to die... and that I could be freed from the pain of duty that I have been burdened with. The history lives, and my voice with it, but the pain is gone."
"Read these pages child, and know why you must carry the duty I and the Co.Rpse give unto you. From generation to generation the price must be paid and the burden shouldered. The time now is yours, my voice fades and another will soon replace me. Do not fear the burden, grasp it, hold it. Love the pain we give you, for in it is the celebration of life.
"Read these pages child, read them and learn."
The book opened then. A hand unseen gently turning the yellowed pages. Blood flowed off of the pedestal, from the book itself and yet the writing was untouched. I leaned closer, and begin to read. What follows is an exact transcript of what was written there, for the words burned themselves onto my mind.
