Anyway, watching these four comment on the list of lame, I realized that, MTV has becomea lame channel toa certain extent. Don`t get me wrong. I applaud their recent efforts such as "Making the Video," (and if you missed it, you have to totally catch the one with director Joseph Kahn shooting U2`s Tomb Raider video.) But how many times can someone watch TRL and not puke at the sight of screaming hormonal teens?

The point? Well, if you are my age, I would think you realized that you`re more of a VH1 fan now. No, no, not because you`re old, but because there`s actually more interesting concepts to the shows! While MTV does have some conceptual notables, (mainly Ultrasound and Video Diary), most of the shows have turned into nothing but hormonal rages of lust that leaves one to ponder, what the hell happened to the music? If you know the letters TRL, you know what I am talking about. And it`s not just that show, there`s Undressed which is, well, the name speaks for itself. And don`t forget the annual Spring Break stuff. Not that I don`t like frolicking in the beach, but the overindulgence of sex, fashion and partying has done something to the channel: it replaces the music with teens as its focus. In turn, MTV lost touch with us twenty-somethings who grew up wanting the M in MTV.

Getting back to the comedians, I can also say that it seems like the older producers aren`t sure of what to do either. I can see one of them go, "Hey, let`s put four comedians in a room and let them rant on the wackass videos of yesteryear!" (Insert mumbles of agreement here.) Great concept, but why the comedians? They were so busy trying to be funny that they 1) weren`t funny, and 2) didn`t focus on the videos. I guess they felt like they had to do something with the 35 in the 18-35 demographics, (and frankly speaking, they`re doing a better job at keeping the 12-18 set interested.) If you ask me, they should have given Real World dude Tek a mic. Maybe even have some type of a Behind the Music or Pop Up video theme to it.
