Mother Earth
Mother Earth

"Man is the only creature which consumes without producing."
~George Orwell

At times our planet can be turbulent. Think of earthquakes, of floods, of volcanoes, of hurricanes. Other times, she can be calm and peaceful, like a glassy lake on a summer night.

We, as humans, must bear in mind that we are still a part of the earth. We take constantly from her, we steal her wealth, and yet we keep demanding more. We use up her natural resources. We kill her sons and daughters--the animals. We treat the world as if it is merely a plaything, to be taken away and replaced with a brand-new one as soon as it's been destroyed.

Few people realize, or care, that this is all we've got. This is the only planet we have to live on, and if it's to last us much longer we simply must be more responsible for what we do. We have to wake up and take notice of the shambles around us.
