1997 was one of the worst years of animal abuse that I've ever seen. I think it's awful and something needs to be done to stop it. I love animals. I have three beautiful, loyal, wonderful Australian shepherds, one 5-year-old and two 3-year-olds. I would hate it if anything happened to my animals, even our Amazon bluefront parrot, who is less than kind to me. But you hear it all the time...pets getting gunned down in their own backyard, stray pets being tortured, cats being set on fire...

Every time I hear about instances of animal abuse, it brings tears to my eyes. Animals never did anything to deserve that kind of treatment. It's simply a control trip for humans. The sad thing is, most people who abuse animals often later move on to abusing and killing other humans.

Something must be done. I made this page so that others can be aware of what's happening and help contribute to its halt. This can only be achieved through working together.
