The Taste of Freedom

Everything tastes better
When you are living each day
Drinking the cup of nectar
That flows only when you say

To yourself and to others;
"I am me! I am alive!"
And through it, man discovers
What gives us will to survive

It is not revenge, nor fear
That creates the thirst for life
It is the hunger to be here
Through the pleasure and the strife

So drink the wine of freedom!
And then bring forth the flood
Of passions and be them!
For we are more than just flesh and blood

We are the wandering souls
And the open armed children
Who reach for unlimited goals
And makes monuments of them

But to achieve, we must face
Our true selves with honest eyes
And fight the role that others place
Upon our weary minds that lie

And tells us to be "normal"
(Whatever that may be)
But each of us is a portal
That opens diversity

For every soul is unique
With a different point of view
And if all were to seek
Our true selves, we may do

Great deeds of science and art
With no applied roles to be
Only the need to be a part
Of a free society

But until the day has come
When everyone is self-aware
Those who fight for freedom
Must always and forever dare!
