Nicolas Andrew Henderson
Our son, Nicolas, was diagnosed with cancer (T-cell Lymphoma/Leukemia (A.L.L.)) on Thursday, July 19 2001.  On December 27 he relapsed and we immediately began planning for a bone marrow transplant.   We created this website to inform our friends around the world of his progress and to share prayer requests.

We had a scare a few weeks ago.  Nicolas's lymph nodes had swollen considerably; this was the sympton that led to his original diagnosis.  HIs blood counts were also a subject of worry.  However, after going through that familiar dread and anxiety again, we found that he merely had a infection.  Since then his lymph glands have reduced in size and his blood counts are normal again.  Thanks for your faithful prayers.

On April 30 we will celebrate one year since Nic's transplant. After this date, the doctor says that Nic's chances of relapse are "highly unlikely."  We have so much to be thankful for.  Nicolas is currently in Germany with his mom and brother visiting his grandparents who are missionaries there.  The picture on the right below was taken there 3 days ago.

Praise our God, O peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard; he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping. For you , oh God, tested us; you refined us like silver. You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs. You let men ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance.

Psalms 66:8-12
