Overview

 In this ever changing world we live in, we see that Egypt is considered one of the countries that struggle with time in order to enter the next century as being one of the developed countries in the world.

Accordingly, the only way of achieving that is through a broad and comprehensive revolution towards developing and promoting education that based on utilizing technology.

 Hence, that promotion of the educational process is such a national goal declared and adapted by the Egyptian president Mr. Mohammed Hosni Mubarak, and his wife, the first lady Mrs. Susan Mubarak.

So, the faculty of education in Helwan University seeks to support that promotion through preparing qualified graduates who are able to deal with the recent technology and make use of it in schools, and that is exactly the domain of the department of Educational Technology.

Educational technology department is such a unique one, as it serves both the other departments in the faculty, and its field as well.

Generally it concerns with promoting education through designing and producing new educational aids and media, as well as utilizing the latest technology, communication theories and the educational psychological theories in all fields of education .. that in turn strengthens the concept of effective learning whether inside or outside schools.

Moreover, this department seeks to train the student-teachers to design and produce a wide variety of modern and useful educational media aseptically that ones dedicated to special education of the talented and handicapped students.

Also, it helps students to use projectors and modern sets beside acquiring adequate and appropriate background of TV, Cassettes, Computer, Broadcasting Systems, information Systems, &ldots;etc. beside teaching them how to be maintained.

All that is taught and presented through a broad variety of courses such as:-

introduction to educational media, computer sciences, libraries and information sciences, Printing and Calligraphic sciences, media production.

4 - Models, Museums, and exhibitions.

5 - Sets ( physics - electricity ).

6 - The bases of the selection and building of collections.

7 - Projectors ( operation, usage, and maintenance ).

8 - Micro forms ( operation and usage ).

9 - Computer Science and Information Systems .

10 - Broadcasting and Verbal recordings.

11 - Cinema and video filming .
