From Molly in Minnesota

I thought that would be so cool if me and Gillian and
Philip and Stephen and Thomas all went to the same college.  Stanford it
is!!  That would be so cool.  I should visit Stanford too, but I guess it is
too late to visit with Laurie.  I will have to visit with Phil and then
Thomas can visit with me.  Wow, i am getting excited!  Talk to you soon.

If you need news, I have some.  I got my first real job at a restaurant
called The Uptown Diner.  I only work on Sundays for six hours.  It pays
$8.00 an hour plus an average of $20.00 in tips every day.  I am very excited for start saving for retirement and spending it at the mall!

Family Trips

We wanted to share our Spring break trip to DC, which was great. Here is a blurb for you for the Grist:

Jerry, Katy and the boys went to visit our nations capitol April 15 - 20th and stayed with Katy's brother Jeff. We saw all the major sites, memorials and museums in a short amount of time. The weather was in the 80's for part and in the 40's for part. We flew in and out of Detroit, home of the Tigers and the name of Jason's T-Ball team. He thought we did this on purpose. Matthew couldn't stop talking about Lily, Jeff's cat when we returned.

We barely saw her the whole time we were there because she was so freaked out about having two loud boys in her habitat. She hid for the majority of our visit. The Cherry blossoms had already peaked out by our visit, but the tulip display was impressive.

From the Beaches .

I heard Joan had a great time in Hawaii.

Papa has played golf regularly.  Poo scrabbles frequently.

Jessie has gotten into several law schools. Which one will she go to?

At the El Cajon Easter Brunch several family members ( but not the editor) had been seen to have slimmed down quite a bit since Christmas.

Unedited Seattle News.

Dear Family,
Gillian's days in high school are soon to end. We will be celebrating her graduation with a big Sunday backyard bash on June 15. Yes, I realize that this is father's day but Ken has graciously agreed to share the day with the graduate. Graduation night is Tuesday, June 17th. Gillian will be one of four guest speakers that night and will be on stage. I am in charge of the Sunday (the party) and Ken is in charge of Tuesday (the tickets). Out of town confirmations so far include Jane and Molly. All are welcome for both events.
Gillian has decided on the University of Washington as her college of choice. She is officially enrolled and that decision process is complete. We are all excited about her excellent selection.
Alicia Jr. is finishing her sophomore year this week at Gonzaga. She is living in Spokane for the summer and has been hired by Costco. She will here in Seattle for the celebration plus all the Seattle regulars.

Love, Jan

Alicia is still in spring break fog.  Marty starts his new job as a detective with the Seattle Police Force, Domestic Violence Unit.  He out on his last day of riding around in the patrol car fighting crime.  He has his birthday March 21st.  His four children are going to invade Seattle for the weekend to celebrate.  I am looking forward to the Lego pictures.  Alicia and I will try to take pictures on our spring break adventure.

From Laurie in the "City by the Bay"

Hi family!

Well, I've been out here in San Francisco for four months now and
things are finally falling into place. After some random jobs like
tutoring, lacrosse coaching and dog walking and a close call with
becoming a full-time nanny I've landed a real job at Timbuk2
(www.timbuk2.com) that I'm very excited about. (I already know what I'm
getting my elf for Christmas this year). I don't really know what my
title is, but basically I'm the assistant to the creative designer and
am randomly assigned projects to help out all over the office. I'm also
moving  into a beautiful place with two of my closest friends from
college, Patti and Meg - so feel free to come and visit.

Love,
Laurie
