United States Paid Reply Postal Cards
Scott's #UY1 to #UY15
1892-1952
These cards were sold to the public as two unsevered cards, one for the message and one for the reply. They are issued first as unsevered cards and then as severed cards. A card is considered unused if it is without printing or written address or message, whether it is unsevered or severed. Unsevered cards that have never been folded sell for a premium. Used unsevered cards have a message card with cancellation and the uncancelled reply card still attached. Used severed cards have a cancellation. An international card that is used domestically or with added postage sell for less than the unused value. A preprinted card is one with printing or a written address or message that may be either severed or unsevered.
Variations are generally not listed here when they are such things as unsevered, preprinted, reply card detached, etc. Variations are listed where they include missing colors, double impressions, reversals, etc. For more detailed listing of variations, consult the latest Scott's Specialized Catalogue of U.S. Stamps.
