2000---2000 was a great year for the Wildcat Drumline. We played most of the old cadences, Baylor, UT, Go Bears, Latin Tenor, Bus Riders, Rape, and Spider. We also played some new, like Kennan cadence, some Baylor University cadences, and the crowd favorite, A.D.S. We competed at the Belton Invitational Drumline Competition, as well, as the Desoto Classic Marching Competion, and regular U.I.L. marching band competition. This year with our show, "Yiddish Dances", the band made it to Area Competition. Our instructor, Mrs. Doherty, is currently working on Christmas music with us.

1999---The Temple High School Drumline is getting ready for yet another great year. The drumline has just completed drum camp and we will be getting our show music to "The Wiz" in about a week. The songs we are playing are "Ease on Down the Road," "So You Wanted to See the Wizard," "If You Believe," and "Everybody Rejoice." This year, we will be playing some new cadences (Bus Riders, Latin Tenor Cadence, Beat Street) as well as some old favorites (UT, Baylor, Go Bears, Spider, Rape, San Angelo). We are going to be a big drumline this year with 6 snares, 2 tenors, 5 basses and 6 cymbals compared to other years. In addition, our beloved percussion teacher, Mrs. Doherty, will be back for her second year at THS.

1998---This year the Temple High School Drumline played 4 different cadences: "Spider", "UT", "Baylor", and "Go Bears". We perform these cadences during pep rallies, at the football games, and for the band. Our contest music is called "La Fiesta Mexicana". The first song was written by Greg Rhinehart but he let us down by not ever writing the last two songs. If Mr. Rhinehart reads this, I would like to say thanks a lot (extreme sarcasm used here). Anyways, our instructor, Mrs. Doherty, wrote the final two songs. We had only a few weeks to learn the last song. At contests we were 13 out of 32 at BOA in San Antonio, got straight ones at UIL, and placed 16 out of 25 at area in Austin. One music judge gave us 327 while others gave us scores in the 700's-800's.
