Computer Data

Data is used to describe facts about something.
When data is stored electronically in a file, it can be used as input.
There are four common types of files where data can be stored:
- Document Files such as memos, term papers, and letters created by a word processor.
- Worksheet Files such as budget and sales forecasts created by an electronic spreadsheet.
- Database Files such as employee and customer records created by a database management system.
- Presentation Files such as slides and handouts created by a presentation graphic program.
