In both the Level 1 and Level 2 classes we study themes of culture shock, diversity, multiculturalism, and Canadian culture and people. Exchange is an online magazine written by and for ESL learners. It is a good place to learn about cultural diversity.

  2. Look under the heading "World Culture", and read some of the articles written by ESL students in different parts of the world. The articles in the sections "Festivals and Celebrations", "My Country", "Cultural Comparisons" are especially relevant to the topics in our Core classes.


  3. After reading several articles, choose one or two that you are particularly interested in, and respond by writing an article of your own. Maybe you agree/disagree with what the author said. Or perhaps you have some of your own ideas to add to it.
