Scientists have made the first discovery of liquid water in a meteorite. The space rock was recovered by a group of boys in a small Texas town who saw it fall out of the sky in 1998.
...When they cracked open the rock they found tiny, purple spots of halite - crystals of sodium chloride, or table salt - along with minute amounts of briny water.
Others who have looked at the research, which is published in the journal Science, and have satisfied themselves that the rock was not contaminated when it fell to Earth, describe the discovery as "astonishing".
On Earth, halite generally forms when large areas of water evaporate. What this discovery suggests is that water was also flowing on the asteroid from which the meteorite came....
VATICAN, 10-26-00 - As he met with a new ambassador from Lebanon, Pope John Paul II renewed his appeal for "specially guaranteed international status" for the city of Jerusalem.
..."Jerusalem should be a particularly strong symbol of unity and peace and reconciliation for the whole human family." For that reason, he continued, the current conflicts in Jerusalem are "particularly disquieting." He suggested that the conflict between Israel and Palestine was not likely to be resolved unless and until the status of Jerusalem is settled, and that international guarantees would furnish a means of ending the current stalemate on that issue....
"The sides would also agree on a mechanism for continued negotiations after the statehood declaration, with the objective of reaching a final-status agreement," the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper said.
Citing American sources, the paper said Mr Clinton would present his plan at separate meetings in Washington with the Israeli prime minister, Ehud Barak, and the Palestinian leader, Yasser Arafat, around November 16. There had earlier been speculation that Mr Arafat would declare a Palestinian state unilaterally on November 15.
The Americans have cautioned both sides against unilateral moves. Mr Clinton has made clear that the US would not recognise a unilaterally declared Palestinian state. He has also warned Mr Barak not to contemplate steps such as annexing land where Jewish settlements have situated themselves, the paper added.
I was saved back when I was 13 (I'm 31 now) when I was away visiting my aunt and uncle for summer. I was faithful for some time, but when I got in high school I kind of got into a bad crowd, and started smoking and using drugs. Fast forward to several years later. I met my wife back in 94, and started to clean up my act when my wife became saved, then we found your book 'End of the Age'. Things started going well and we were both on fire for the Lord. Well, in the last year, my life has gone to chaos. I started smoking again, and started using marijuana....I've made a decision to stop marijuana, and the shock that my body has been going through from quitting both cigarretes and marijuana has sent me into a depression....I need help. I don't seem to have any will power or strength to over come these temptations...I REALLY WANT TO CHANGE, and I've prayed to the Lord to deliver me from this. When I feel like things have changed, it just seems that the temptations get over whelming. I was just hoping maybe you and the others who visit your site could lift up a prayer for me to give me strength to over come. I am really scared about my salvation, and my family. I know that I will still go to Heaven, but Idon't want to stay behind and suffer the Tribulation. I feel so lost and scared, and I need strength. Is there still hope for me going in the Rapture? I'm sorry to dump all of this on you, but I just don't have anywhere else to turn. You give great advice, but I was more hoping for a concentrated prayer from you and your visitors to your site. I don't know what else to do. I don't feel so much scared as to the consequences, but feel more that I've betrayed the Lord, when He has watched over my family and I for so long, and then I just do this in His face. I feel like I've hurt Him, and I feel really remorseful. I JUST CAN'T GO ON LIKE THIS ANYMORE. Scientists investigating 'near-death' experiences say they have found evidence to suggest that consciousness can continue to exist after the brain has ceased to function....
The researchers interviewed 63 patients who had survived heart attacks within a week of the experience.
Of these 56 had no recollection of the period of unconsciousness they experienced whilst, effectively, clinically dead.
However, seven had memories, four of which counted as near-death experiences.
They told of feelings of peace and joy, time speeded up, heightened senses, lost awareness of body, seeing a bright light, entering another world, encountering a mystical being and coming to "a point of no return"....
Lead researcher Dr Sam Parnia, of Southampton General Hospital, said nobody fully understands how brain cells generate thoughts.
He said it might be that the mind or consciousness is independent of the brain.
The 2300 days of Dan. 8:13,14, counted by Jewish inclusive reckoning, start on Sivan 6, 5761 (May 28, 2001) and end on Tishri 1, 5768 (Sept. 13, 2007). Both starting and ending days are part of the 2300.
The covenant will be confirmed for 7 years (Dan. 9:27), and I think those 7 years will apply, to Satan in particular, but to mankind too. However for the sake of the saints, those 2520 days are shortened to the 2300. I'll try to explain it as I understand it.
The first half of the 70th week of Daniel/Tribulation is 1260 days (Rev. 11:3). From Mid-Trib, the last half is also 1260 days (Rev. 12:6). In Mt. 24:15, we can see that the time is Mid-Trib, when the False Prophet comes to full power, goes to the temple and sits there "shewing himself that he is God" (II Thess. 2:4). He also places an idol there, which is the "abomination of desolation" of Mt. 24:15. At this time, he kills the 2 witnesses. Mt. 24:16 says, "Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains." Rev. 12:6 says, "And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days."
Mt. 24:20-24 says, "But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be GREAT TRIBULATION, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And EXCEPT THOSE DAYS (the last 1260 days) SHOULD BE SHORTENED, THERE SHOULD NO FLESH BE SAVED: but FOR THE ELECT'S SAKE THOSE DAYS SHALL BE SHORTENED. Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets."
The Jews sacrifice during the 1st 1260 days. The sacrificing stops Mid-Trib when the False Prophet desecrates the temple. Then the last 1260 days are shortened for the elect's sake to 1040. (1260 + 1040 = 2300), but NOT for the unbelievers on Earth. The vials of God's wrath fill up the wrath of God during that time. The devastation spreads. Where the third part of the creatures which are in the Mediterranean Sea (Zeph. 2:4,5) died when the 2nd trumpet judgment sounded (Rev. 8:8), when the 2nd vial is poured out, "every living soul died in the sea" (Rev. 16:3).
Dan. 8:13,14 says, " How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice (1st 1260 days), and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot (1040 days then the Wrath of God will fall, deposing the False Prophet)? And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the SANCTUARY BE CLEANSED." I think it will be cleansed later, not on the 2300th day. I'll try to explain that too.
Before the 1260 days of the last half of the Tribulation run out on Nisan 15, 5768, I think Christ will return on Nisan 1 (Eze. 29:17,21; Hos. 6:3). There is a good chance that Eze. 45:18 will be fulfilled that day. It says, "Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the first month, in the first day of the month (Nisan 1), thou shalt take a young bullock without blemish, and CLEANSE THE SANCTUARY." Verse 21 tells us that the Passover will be kept on Nisan 14.
Nisan 15, the 2520th day of the 70th week of Daniel, is the Feast of Unleavened Bread. The next day, Nisan 16, is the anniversary of the Resurrection, a fitting day for the Judgment of the Nations, where dominion will be taken away from Satan. I think Armageddon breaks out then. It is Satan's last ditch stand. He will be chained at its end.
It looks like the whole 70th week of Daniel applies to Satan, his fallen angels, and those that are unbelievers on the 2300th day. I think the believers are caught up to Heaven on the 2300th day. On that day, Israel turns to the Lord. The nation is born in a day (Isa. 66:8). Therefore, the new believers will be the sheep that will live on into the Millennium.
If those final 1260 days were not shortened, there would no flesh be saved to live on into the millennial Day of the Lord. The remnant needs the remaining 220 days to accept the Lord. We know that there will be a remnant left. Mt. 25:34 says, "Then (i.e., at the Judgment of the Nations) shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world."
I hope I have explained it enough for you to see how both the 2300 days and the 2520 days can apply. Agape

So how can there be a rapture before the "last day" when Jesus spoke repeatedly of that "last day" as resurrection day? Blessings
There can't be, but the 1st resurrection is in ranks. I Cor. 15:22,23 says, "in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order (tagmati, rank): Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. The first rank was Christ, the Seed and the Head of the Body of Christ. Next were those in Mt. 27:52, the rest of the sheaf offered on the Feast of Firstfruits in 30 AD. Mt. 27:52 says, "the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose." Jesus took that sheaf to Heaven on Resurrection Day and returned to Earth the same day.
The next rank will be the main Bride group, the wise Philadelphian virgins caught up in the Pre-Trib Rapture at the first trump of God. They are the ones seen in Heaven in Rev. 5:9, having just been caught up with John and the 23 other elders in Rev. 4:1. Rev. 5:9 says these saints are "out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation." These are caught up at the first "trump of God" (I Thess. 4:16), before the 1st seal on the Title Deed of the Earth is broken.
The next rank will be the 2 witness 3.5 days after Mid-Trib (Rev. 11:12).
The last rank will be the Tribulation saints of Rev. 7:9,14, "a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues....These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb." These are caught up at the "last trump" of God (I Cor. 15:51,52), between the breaking of the 6th (Rev. 6:12) and 7th seals (Rev. 8).
The type of the 2 main Raptures is in Nu. 10:2-4: "Make thee TWO TRUMPETS of silver; of a whole piece shalt thou make them: that thou mayest use them for the calling of the ASSEMBLY, and for the JOURNEYING of the camps. And when they shall blow with THEM (both), ALL the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the DOOR (symbol of the Raptures, Rev. 3:8; Mt. 24:32-34) of the tabernacle of the congregation (as in the Pre-Wrath Rapture, I Cor. 15:51,52). And if they blow but with ONE TRUMPET, then the princes, which are heads of the thousands of Israel (the 24 elders, 12 patriarchs and 12 apostles), shall gather themselves unto thee" (as in the Pre-Trib Rapture). John is one of the elders caught up in the Pre-Trib Rapture when the first trump of God sounds.
God is very careful how he words Scripture. He said "them" (i.e., both trumpets) to represent the "last trump" of I Cor. 15:51,52. Mk. 13:27 elaborates on this so we can understand why. Jesus said, "then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the EARTH (the Pre-Wrath Rapture) to the uttermost part of HEAVEN" (those caught up previously at the Pre-Trib Rapture). ALL are called to the "general assembly" of Heb. 12:23 on the day of the Coronation of Christ, the Marriage of the Lamb, the Judgment Seat of Christ, and the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. On that day, the 1st day of the millennial Day of the Lord, both trumpets sound, one to call those in Heaven to the assembly, the other to call the saints on Earth to the assembly.

This "last day" is the last rank of the 1st resurrection. It is the Pre-Wrath Rapture, when all remaining believers will be caught up. Of these, only the 144,000 Israelites are definitely part of the Bride. Rev. 14:4,5 shows that "they are virgins," "firstfruits" and "without fault."
Jn. 6:39,40,44,54 says, "this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of ALL which he HATH GIVEN ME I should lose NOTHING, but should raise it up again AT THE LAST DAY. And this is the will of him that sent me, that EVERY ONE which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up AT THE LAST DAY. No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up AT THE LAST DAY....Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up AT THE LAST DAY."
It is talking about the last rank, when the "last trump" of God sounds. This is when all believers, "SMALL AND GREAT" (Rev. 11:18), are assembled to receive their rewards at the Judgment Seat of Christ. Most of the GREAT were caught up in the Pre-Trib Rapture of the Bride of Christ. They were the wise virgins who built upon their faith in Christ with gold, silver and precious stones. The SMALL include those foolish virgins that built upon their faith in Christ with wood, hay and stubble. ALL are called to the general assembly on the last day. The wise virgins are gathered from one end of Heaven to the other. The foolish virgins are gathered from one end of Earth to the other.
I Cor. 3:10-15 says, "let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward."
The clues are "ALL" and "EVERY ONE." We find "ALL" in I Cor. 15:51,52, when the "last trump" of God sounds at Rapture 2.

Where there is a "last day," there was an earlier first day. The first day of the First Resurrection was Resurrection Day in 30 AD. However, the first "trump of God" sounds at the Pre-Trib Rapture of I Thess. 4:16. The "last trump" sounds at the Pre-Wrath Rapture of I Cor. 15:51,52. By that time, or at that time, the entire Body of Christ will be changed, be made immortal. Agape
The word generation is the Strong's # 1074, genea, in this verse; the same as the "generation" used in "this generation will not pass away"
I want to know how many years a "generation" is, so started studying, and through many roads, found your article on chonology; I got a little mixed up with AH and BC type dating, and didn't find where David was born.
Best I could tell, Abraham was born in 2008 AH (or 2035 BC), but no record of birth of David here.

I believe God gives us definitive information to determine the duration of a generation (#1074 = genea) in Mat 1:17; because He says there are 14 generations between 3 specific time frames here.
But I can't figure out the time frames! Can you help please?
The 42 generations in Mt. 1:17 start with Abraham, not David. We can figure from 2035 BC to the birth of Christ in 5 BC is 2030 years. 2030 divided by 42 = 48.33 for a generation.
However, the Lord has shown us what to count as one generation in the fig tree parable of Mt. 24:32-34. In Mt. 23:36, Jesus told the Pharisees in 30 AD, "All these things shall come upon this generation." They did, in 70 AD. Therefore, we are to count a generation as 40 years, as he showed us when Israel wandered in the wilderness 40 years while one generation died off.
The fig tree grew leaves (Sinai, Gaza Strip, Golan Heights, West Bank) in the Six-Day War of 1967. 1967 + 40 = 2007. I think the millennial Day of the Lord starts on Tishri 1, 5768 (Sept. 13, 2007).

454 BC is the RETURN from Captivity, which began in 523 BC. Those 70 years are counted by Jewish inclusive reckoning, where the 1st year is counted. It is the 1st year of Cyrus (Isa. 44:28). If I remember correctly, the secular date for "the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem" (Dan. 9:25) is 536 BC. That is figured using the work of Ptolemy. Martin Anstey, author of The Romance of Bible Chronology, found an 82-year mistake in the period of the Persian kings. 536 BC- 82 = 454 BC.
I found a quote from The Romance of Bible Chronology in my notes. Anstey said, "the true date of the 1st year of Cyrus is therefore B.C. 454, not B.C. 536, which makes the chronology of this period 82 years too long." Even though I am 71, my memory didn't fail me. :-)
Anstey also said, "But in chronology he (Ptolemy) was only a late compiler and contriver, not an original witness, and not a contemporary historian, for he lived in the second century after Christ. He is the only authority for the chronology of this period. He is not corroborated. He is contradicted, both by the Persian National Traditions preserved in Firdusi, and by the Jewish National Tradition preserved in the Sedar Olam, and by the writings of Josephus."
The 483 years of Dan. 9:25 - 454 BC + 1 because there is no zero year = 30 AD, the year of the Crucifixion.
When I wrote Exit: 2007: The Secret of Secrets Revealed, I found this correlation too. In Mt. 26:40, Jesus said, "What, could ye not watch with me ONE HOUR?" I divided a 1000-year day by 24 and got 41.66. I figure that we are supposed to watch things closely the last 40-year generation, or 41.66 years, which includes when I think the Second Advent will take place, Nisan 1, 5768 (Apr. 6, 2008). Agape
The very fact that these people are still functioning is beyond my comprehension. Whatever you imagine as the worst, multiply it by ten and you might get there. Today I was tasked to photo rig the ship and surrounding area. It looked so much worse than I had imagined, unbelievable really, with debris and disarray everywhere, the ship listing, the hole in her side. I wish I had the power to relay to you all what I have seen, but words just won't do it.
I do want to tell you the first thing that jumped out at me - the Stars and Stripes flying. I can't tell you how that made me feel...even in this God forsaken hell hole our flag was more beautiful than words can describe.
Then I started to notice the mass of activity going on below, scores of people working non-stop in 90 plus degree weather to save this ship.
They're doing it with almost no electrical power and they're sleeping (when they can sleep) outside on the decks because they can't stand the smell or the heat or the darkness inside. They only want to eat what we bring them because they're all scared of eating something brought by the local vendors.
Even with all that, the USS COLE and her crew is sending a message guys, and it's that even acts of cowardice and hate can do nothing to the spirit and pride of the United States. I have never been so proud of what I do, or of the men and women that I serve with as I was today.
There are sixteen confirmed dead sailors who put it on the line for all of us, and some of them are still trapped here. Please take a minute to pray for their families and say a word of thanks for their sacrifice - one made so that we can live the lives that we do. All of you that serve with me, thank you. All of you that have loved ones that serve, thank you."
