Someone wrote to you asking for photos of the planet Saturn. I just found these today. Is it any wonder that the Bible describes a rainbow around His throne? What a spectacular planet! Perhaps you can post the URL for others to see. Agape.
> > Is the king's daughter in Ps. 45:13, the remnant of Israel or the Church?
The remnant of Israel is spoken of in v. 16. It says, "Instead of thy fathers shall be thy children, whom thou mayest make princes in all the earth." Therefore, I don't think the king's daughter in v. 13 is the remnant of Israel.
Let's start at the first of the chapter and see if we can figure out what day is being talked about. My New Jerusalem Bible also labels it "Royal wedding song." The KJV has "A Song of loves." If it is the Royal wedding song, the day is probably Tishri 1, 5768 (Sept. 13, 2007), the first day of the millennial Day of the Lord. I expect the Coronation of Christ, the Pre-Wrath Rapture, the Marriage of the Lamb and the Judgment Seat of Christ on that day. When the 7 trumpet judgments hit unbelievers left on Earth, the asteroid, called the Sword of the Lord, will stop Gog's army and destroy Babylon.
Verses 3 and 6 fit this scenario. They say, "Gird thy SWORD upon thy thigh, O most mighty (Christ, the 'Almighty,' Rev. 1:8; 'The mighty God,' Isa. 9:6), with thy glory and thy majesty....Thy throne, O GOD, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre." Heb. 1:8 says, "unto the SON he saith, Thy throne, O GOD, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom."
Verse 11 reminds me of Ahasuerus making Esther Queen, a type of the Bride of Christ. It says, "So shall the king greatly desire thy beauty: for he is thy Lord; and worship thou him."
Verses 13-15 say, "The king's daughter (probably representing the Bride of Christ, we are God's adopted children) is ALL GLORIOUS WITHIN (wise virgins, filled with the oil of the Holy Spirit): her clothing is of wrought gold. She shall be BROUGHT (at the Pre-Trib Rapture) unto the king in raiment of needlework: the virgins her companions (foolish virgins) that FOLLOW her shall be BROUGHT (at the Pre-Wrath Rapture) unto thee. With gladness and rejoicing shall they be brought: they shall enter into the king's palace."
This ties right in with Mark 13:27: "then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the EARTH (the Pre-Wrath Rapture) to the uttermost part of HEAVEN" (those caught up previously in the Pre-Trib Rapture).
> > the virgins her companions...a lady in waiting
Waiting for the Second Rapture would make sense.
The Rapture seems near to me too. I keep watching the news stories coming out of Israel. Agape
I became a Christian nearly 20 years ago from an interest in prophecy, that led me to Hal Lindsay books, and ultimately responded to an invitation he gave in Satan is Alive and Well and Living on Planet Earth.
In summer of 1998 I started having a recurring dream, usually just before I woke up. I won't go into the gory details, but it involved someone losing their head. I was very disturbed by this, and sought to understand what it meant, if anything. Right after that, I read news reports about people in the South Seas hacking off people's heads. I got the impression that the Lord was saying that people were going to start going mad, "losing their head", and I suspected that we would see political and financial turmoil ahead.
Right at that time, the financial turmoil began that we have been experiencing off and on right up through today.
One night, during a time that I was very agitated about my job and the future of the company and the economy, I stood outside after I arrived home and watched the sky for around 20 minutes hoping to see a shooting star, since it was the night that was supposed to have the most in our area for the year. I saw none. After I went to bed, I was awakened by a voice that said, "Arise, my child, and go out into the night." It was around midnight.
I jumped out of bed, through on shoes and a coat, and went outside. I turned in the direction of Orion, and just as I looked a shooting star appeared, shooting from Taurus to Orions lifted knee. I immediately went to my knee and worshipped God. This was a tremendous encouragement to me.
I have read many times "God's Voice in the Stars", but have rarely found Christians who have an inkling of what Jesus is saying through them. Thank you for bringing this to light for others.
I, too, am very certain that Pentecost 2001 is the most likely time of the first rapture. Please pray that my family is ready and worthy to go!
Here are my questions:
1. What is the scriptural proof that the first Rapture is visible?
2. Tim LaHaye claims that children will go in the first rapture, but he doesn't accept a second rapture. What do you find regarding this in the scriptures?
3. Is it possible that we just drop dead? I thought perhaps the verse about the bodies staying with the vultures was hinting at this.
4. The popular idea is that our bodies leave, but our clothes and jewelry stay behind. But I don't see scriptural evidence of this, in fact the opposite was apparently true for Enoch and Elijah. What do you think?
I'm sorry if you covered these at another time, but I don't think I've seen any of it. Agape!
> > 1. What is the scriptural proof that the first Rapture is visible?
We are shown in Rev. 11:12 what happens at a Rapture. It says, "they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies BEHELD THEM."
Elisha saw Elijah being taken up. II Ki. 2:11 says, "it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven."
Psa. 40:1-3 says, " I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined (bent down) unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up (the Pre-Trib Rapture) also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay (out of the Earth, as when Jeremiah was taken up out of the pit with miry clay), and set my feet upon a rock (Heaven, another planet), and established my goings. And he hath put a new song (sung after the Rapture, Rev. 5:9) in my mouth, even praise unto our God: MANY SHALL SEE IT, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD." The Lord never leaves himself without a witness.
> > 2. Tim LaHaye claims that children will go in the first rapture, but he doesn't accept a second rapture. What do you find regarding this in the scriptures?
I can't be sure, but it seems that all children will go in the 2nd Rapture, but only those with a parent that is going will go in the 1st Rapture. Joel 2:16 says of the 1st day of the millennial Day of the Lord, "Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet."
The 1st group is seen in Heaven in Rev. 5:9. They are out of all nations and see Christ given the little book, the Title Deed to the Earth. At that time, none of the seals are broken. The 2nd group is also out of all nations. It is seen in Heaven in Rev. 7:14. That group will come out of "great tribulation." They are caught up to Heaven between the breaking of the 6th (Rev. 6:12) and 7th seals (Rev. 8).
> > 3. Is it possible that we just drop dead? I thought perhaps the verse about the bodies staying with the vultures was hinting at this.
I see no evidence that there will be dead bodies lying around. I think that verse is talking about the Pre-Wrath Rapture. In the KJV, Mt. 24:28 says, "wheresoever the carcase (body, i.e., Body of Christ) is, there will the eagles (Tribulation saints) be gathered together." Isa. 40:31 says, "they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
> > 4. The popular idea is that our bodies leave, but our clothes and jewelry stay behind. But I don't see scriptural evidence of this, in fact the opposite was apparently true for Enoch and Elijah.
I don't know. Elijah left behind his cloak, but evidently nothing else. With Enoch, all we know is that God took him. We are not told that anyone picked up his clothing. It is the same with Moses and Elijah Mid-Trib. It doesn't mention clothing being left behind. Agape
I still am not seeing where the threescore and two weeks, 62 weeks, fits. 62 times 7 equals 434 years. 434 years from Cyrus's declaration to build the temple in 454 BC (454 - 434) would not bring you to 30 AD. Why did you write..."(483 - 454 + 1 because there is no zero year = 30 AD) shall Messiah be cut off (karath, killed)". I can understand you saying that if the verse had said "And after seven and threescore and two weeks"...for that would be 483 years. But it doesn't. It says "threescore and two weeks..." (434 years). What am I missing? Your brother in Jesus
Do you have scripture and verse? I would like to study this doctrine more. Thanks
ps. I know Jesus is God and has all powers but I thought He laid aside His powers as God and performed these miracles by the power of the Holy Spirit or God the Father.
> > I know Jesus is God and has all powers but I thought He laid aside His powers as God and performed these miracles by the power of the Holy Spirit or God the Father.
I Cor. 15:47 says, "The first man (Adam) is of the earth, earthy; the second man (Jesus Christ) is THE LORD FROM HEAVEN." Col. 2:9 says, "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily." The Godhead is shown in Mt. 28:19. It says, "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name (singular) of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost."
Christ and the Father are one. In John 10:30, Jesus said, "I and my Father are one."
The Spirit of Christ is the same as the Spirit of God. Rom. 8:9 says, "ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his." I Peter 1:10,11 says, "Of which salvation the prophets (in Old Testament days) have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the SPIRIT OF CHRIST which was in them (in the prophets in Old Testament days) did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow." > > why does the chapter of 1 john verse one -- the real beginning of the bible not mention the holy spirit just the word and god
If we put like passages together, we see more details. Much of the Bible is written this way. It takes some study to put the whole picture together. Gen. 1 and John 1 are similar in that they both speak of the beginning. Only Genesis mentions the Spirit of God.
Gen. 1:1-3,7 says, "In the beginning God created (bara, created) the heaven and the earth. And the earth was (hayah, became, as in Gen. 24:67) without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the SPIRIT OF GOD moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light....And God made (asah, fashioned) the firmament (expanse of space)."
John 1:1-3 says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made (ginomai, caused to be) by him (the Word, the pre-incarnate Christ); and without him was not any thing made that was made."
Heb. 1:1-3 deals with the beginning too, but does not mention the Holy Spirit. It says, "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by (en, in) his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high." You and I have some differences on this subject but I would like to encourage you to read this article in order to see a perspective you may not have thought of or heard about.
Would you like to be on my prophecy mailing list? I do not bombard my readers with daily stuff, mainly I send an occasional newsletter which is usually an article like the one above, based on thorough Bible study results. God bless you, Lance Johnson, O.D.
> > there are only 3 ½ years remaining of the covenant mentioned in Daniel 9
The Jews did not cease sacrificing in 30 AD. According to Josephus, the priests were still on duty when the iron gate opened by itself in 66 AD. It took 20 of them to close it again.
I don't think that 3.5 years of the 490-year prophecy in Dan. 9 have already been fulfilled by Christ. Dan. 9:26,27 says, "after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself (for us): (the rest of the passage is about the False Prophet).
"and the people (Romans) of the prince that shall come (the False Prophet) shall destroy the city (Jerusalem) and the sanctuary (temple); and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
"And he (the prince that shall come) shall confirm the covenant (at the beginning of the Tribulation) with many (the united nations) for one week (shabua, seven): and in the midst of the week (shabua, seven) he (the prince that shall come) shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations (idols) he (the prince that shall come) shall make it (the temple) desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate (desolator)" (the prince that shall come).
This prince that shall come is the wicked one, the False Prophet, "Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders." He is the one that "sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God" (II Thess. 2:4). This and his placing an idol at the temple will cause the Jews to stop sacrificing Mid-Trib because the temple is desecrated.
The time that the Jews sacrifice (1st half of the Tribulation) plus the time that they cannot (the Great Tribulation) because the temple is defiled is 2300 days. Dan. 8:13,14 says, " How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice (when they do sacrifice), and the transgression of desolation (starting the time they do not sacrifice), to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot? And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed." There are 1260 days in the first half of the Tribulation. Moses and Elijah prophesy during these days (Rev. 11:3). After Mid-Trib, the remaining days are shortened to 1040 (1260 + 1040 = 2300).

Not likely. I believe "sin nature" is a spiritual condition, and thus has nothing to do with genetics. But I can't find scripture that says women don't pass on the "sin nature".
This, we know: Rom. 5:12 says, "Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned." Agape
In Mark 13:2 Jesus told his disciple that no way a stone here would be left upon a stone. They asked "whe will this be and what will be the sign when these things(buildings destroyed) are to be accomplished.
In Luke 21:7 they asked when will this be and what will be the sign when this(buildings destroyed) is about to take place.
It seems pretty simple that the signs would lead up to the Temple and buildings being destroyed in 70A.D.
All along I've been told these signs are for the generation born in 1967. How do you get Mark and Luke to mean that. Sincerely
The bitter end is the end of this age and the first day of the millennial Day of the Lord. Dan. 12:1,2 says, "at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake." On this day, Christ will be crowned, and the Pre-Wrath Rapture, the Marriage of the Lamb, and the Judgment Seat of Christ will take place in Heaven. On Earth, the Wrath of God will hit unbelievers. The Wrath of God is the "time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time."
The Olivet Discourse was given on Tuesday, 2 days (Mark 14:1) before Jesus was crucified on Thursday, the preparation of the Passover (John 19:14-16), in 30 AD. The nation had already refused him as King on Palm Sunday. In Mark 13:23, Jesus said, "but take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you ALL THINGS." The information in the Olivet Discourse spreads from their days to THE END, the 1st day of the Millennium, the 2300th day of the shortened Tribulation (Dan. 8:13,14), the "time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time," the day of Jacob's trouble. Jer. 30:7 says, "Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it."
Comparing the 3 accounts of the Olivet Discourse, we find that the disciples asked, " Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world (aionos, age)?" (Mt. 24:3). In Mt. 24:21,22, we find that the Great Tribulation, the last 1260 days of the Tribulation, are to be shortened at the point of Jacob's trouble, "For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be." This is echoed in Mark 13:19,20: "in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be. And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved." The shortening is between the 6th and 7th seals. The 6th is broken on the last day of this age. The 7th is broken the next day, the 1st day of the Millennium.
There is no way that what happened in 70 AD was the worst thing ever to happen since man was put on Earth, or the worst thing that would ever happen. When the asteroids of Rev. 8:8,10 impact Earth, this globe will be turned upside down. Isa. 24:1 says, "the LORD maketh the earth empty, and maketh it waste, and turneth it upside down, and scattereth abroad the inhabitants thereof." There will be a worldwide earthquake (Rev. 16:18). Every wall shall fall (Eze. 38:20). So few men will be left that a child could write the number.
In Mt. 24, verses 27-31 all happen on one day, the Day of Jacob's Trouble, the 2300th day of the Tribulation, the 1st day of the 1000-year Day of the Lord. In Mark 13, verses 24-27 all happen on that same day. In Luke 21, only verses 26 and 27 take place that same day.
The 3 accounts all line up at the point that men look up into the sky, see the smoky atmosphere rolled back like a scroll and in the cleared space see the Sign of the Son of Man, Christ sitting on his throne. This is 7 months before the Second Advent (Eze. 39:12,13).
Mt. 24:30 says, "then shall appear the SIGN of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."
Mark 13:26 says, "then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory."
Luke 21:26,27 says, "Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory."
Rev. 6:14-17 shows that this sign is to be seen as this age ends and the Day of God's Wrath begins. It says, "the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?"
Luke 21:20-24 applies to 70 AD. The clue is that the Jews are to be "led away captive into all nations." It says, "then know that the desolation (of Jerusalem) thereof is nigh. Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. For these be the days of vengeance (because they refused Christ as King), that all things which are written may be fulfilled. But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled" (when Israel took the rest of Jerusalem and the temple area on June 7, 1967).
